The Week Ahead
A Preview of the week 6/5-6/9
Principal's Corner
The countdown is on, 11 days and summer is here! While we are almost at the finish line, it is important that we finish in style! During this time of year, we often see students getting a case of "Summer-itus". This sometimes leads to them failing to remember and adhere to school rules. We are asking that you spend some time reviewing some important basic behavioral expectations with your child:
- Treat all adults and classmates with respect
- Keep your hands off of other people and other people's property
- Candy and gum are not for school
- We have observed a new trend in which students are using Mio bottles as water sprayers. Please ensure your child is not bringing Mio squeeze containers to school
Warmer weather has arrived, therefore it is a good time to review some dress expectations for our students. We believe in fostering an inclusive and respectful community where students can be themselves while also adhering to appropriate dress guidelines. We want our students to feel comfortable in their clothing, but also understand the importance of dressing appropriately for school. As we move into the warmer months, we would like to emphasize the following points regarding proper school attire:
Footwear: Flip flops, sandals or any shoe without a heel or strap across the heel are not allowed for safety reasons. Students should wear shoes that provide proper support and protection for their feet.
Shirts: Crop tops or shirts that expose the belly are not allowed. All shirts should cover the entire torso. Shirts should not include any inappropriate messages.
Shorts: Shorts must be of appropriate length. Extremely short shorts or shorts that expose undergarments are not allowed.
While we encourage students to express their personal style, it is important to remember that certain clothing items may not be suitable for a school setting. As educators, we strive to create a positive and respectful environment for all students, and appropriate school attire is part of that.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing these guidelines with your child. If you have any questions or concerns regarding appropriate school dress, please do not hesitate to contact our school office. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that our students come to school dressed in a manner that is comfortable, respectful, and conducive to learning.
