24-25 McKinley Enrollment

Kindergarten students must reach the age of five on or before September 1, 2024 in order to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. In 2024–25, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 years old between September 2 and June 2. There is not a Dual Immersion TK.

This is specifically designed for incoming TK/K families.

Please meet around the flagpole. Please do not arrive before 8:45am, as our morning drop off is quite crowded. (Thank you for your help with this!)

This is our only tour date. We do not offer individual tours.

No registration is necessary.

• TK/Kindergarten Registration Begins for Burlingame School District (Visit District website and click on Registration then New Student Registration). Register online. (see below)
• Re-enrollment for returning families will also begin this day. (see below)

• New student enrollment will be on a first-come-first-served basis. The District encourages parents to enroll early in the process. There is no guarantee of attendance in the student’s neighborhood school. Placement of the student is subject to capacity at each school. (with exception of the DLI program)

• Sibling Letter of Current Dual Immersion Students Due. Submit in person at the McKinley office or by email <jshmueli@burlingameschools.org> (only needed for incoming kindergarten students who would like to enroll in the DLI program.)

For your 2024-2025 SnapCode Letter

As we gear up for the upcoming school year, we are excited to welcome back our returning students.

Burlingame School District will require all families to provide proof of residency. This is important to ensure our Burlingame families have priority at their school of residence.

Proof of Residence (at least one of the following)

• Property tax payment receipts

• Rental property contract, lease, or payment receipts

• A utility service contract, statements, or payment receipts

• Pay stubs

• Voter registration

• Correspondence from a government agency

• Declaration of residency executed by the parent or legal guardian of the student

Registration will open on February 1st, 2024. You will receive your SnapCode letter in the US Mail the last week of January 2024. To ensure a smooth transition into the new academic school year, please complete the student returning registration process at your earliest convenience. This registration is crucial for us to plan effectively, allocate resources, and create the best possible educational experience for your child.

Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, as it allows us to finalize our preparations for the upcoming academic year. Please do not hesitate to contact your school office if you have questions or require assistance during registration.

NOTE: If your student is currently an Interdistrict Transfer, you will follow the same process as before. As always, the IDT process needs to be completed every year. Click here for the Inter/Intra District Transfer information.

Is your child a native Spanish speaker? Are they Spanish-bilingual? If so, we want to assess their abilities. Please schedule your time using the following link. Appointments are only scheduled using the link.

Dual Language Immersion applications must:

1. Register online via their home school; and

2. Complete the Dual Language Immersion Lottery Application (click on the button below)

For those families who are not selected, your child will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified if a placement is available in the Immersion Program for the 2024-2025 school year.

This is only for those who are registered. An email will be sent out to all registered families. This event is only for adults.

This event is open to our community. Time will be added here once determined.

Specific dates are still to be determined.

There will be multiple opportunities to get acquainted with other new families here on our McKinley campus. These events are hosted by BCE and our PTA.
