Attention Incoming 9th Grade Students: Save the Dates
What: Camp Monarch
Who: Incoming Mark Morris 9th grade students
When: Monday, August 19 (8:00-1:00) & Tuesday, August 20 (8:00-1:00)
Why: Student participation in learning what it means to be a Monarch.
All incoming 9th grade students are invited to attend this freshmen orientation. Come learn more about the opportunities offered at Mark Morris. In addition, students will receive their schedules and check-out their Chromebooks. Mark Morris staff and mentor students will be on hand to guide new students and answer any questions. We are looking forward to meeting you. Go Monarchs!

Dress Code
All students who attend Mark Morris High School are expected to respect the school community by dressing appropriately for a 9-12 educational environment. Student attire should facilitate participation in learning as well as the health and safety of students and the adults that supervise them. This policy is intended to provide guidance for students, staff and parents.
Minimum Requirements:
- Tops must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, have shoulder straps, and not expose excessive midriff. Shorts and skirts must go down to approximately 3 to 4 inches in length on the upper thighs. Rips or tears in clothing should be lower than the 3 to 4 inches in length.
- Shoes must be worn at all times and should be safe for the school environment (pajamas, bedroom shoes or slippers shall not be worn, except for school activities approved by the principal).
- See-through or mesh garments must not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum requirement of the dress code.
- Specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as sports uniforms or safety gear.
Additional Requirements:
- Clothing may not depict, imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, of the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other controlled substances.
- Clothing may not depict or imply pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.
- Clothing may not display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene language or images.
- Clothing may not state, imply, or depict hate speech/imagery targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any other protected classification.
- Costumes may only be worn in conjunction with school sanctioned spirit themes.
- Sunglasses may not be worn inside the building.
- Clothing and accessories that endanger students or staff safety may not be worn.
- Apparel, jewelry, accessories, tattoos, or manner of grooming that, by virtue of its color, arrangement, trademark or any other attribute, denotes membership in a gang that advocates illegal or disruptive behavior is prohibited.
Attendance Information
If you call before school hours, please leave a voicemail clearly indicating student's name, date and reason for absence.
If you plan to pick up your student due to illness or appointments, you will need to show photo identification.
If a student is tardy to school please write a note and have the student present it to our attendance office. If a student enters a class with an unexcused tardy after 10 minutes, the student will be marked as absent.
