Message From Mr. Mitchell
What a great (almost) full week of school! Our classes are moving forward academically, and staff and students are settling into productive routines all over the building. It is invigorating for all of us to have Sherwood High School filled with people!
Thank you all for your continued help with improving our traffic flow. As we all know, moving forward as far as possible in the drop-off line will help to reduce the congestion both on campus, as well as on the neighboring roads. Please continue to do so!
Our first football game is tonight, as well as halftime performances from our amazing cheer, dance, and marching band teams! Please join us for a great night at Sherwood High School!
Have a great weekend, and Go Bowmen!
Adam Mitchell
Principal, SHS
Important Upcoming Dates

CELEBRATE SHERWOOD STAFF!
As you may have heard, the Sherwood School District is engaged in many activities to Celebrate our schools, our students, our staff, and our community. At Sherwood High School, we would love your help in recognizing our staff members who are doing amazing things for our students and families. When you have any positive and exceptional experienced or interactions with our staff, please use the button below to share those with us! We will share that information with the staff member, as well as use any submissions to help identify a staff member of the month that we will recognize at our staff meetings! Bring on those great stories, thank you!
Bowmen Game Changers for September
Congratulations to our September Bowmen Game Changers! Thank you for going above and beyond for our students! Use the link below to nominate a fellow staff member for doing great things in our building.
From SHS Staff:
Janell Borden-Janell is an amazing support and leader for the Algebra 2 team!
From SHS Students:
Sarah Lenhart- Most of my teachers didn’t really have a one on one conversation with me but Mrs. Lenhart stopped by my desk and asked about my summer and started a conversation with me. She’s also always very nice and has a great personality.
Brant Stai- For dedicating himself to our band program and being so exceptional in making sure we succeed. He works harder than anyone realizes and always makes sure everyone feels at home in his class.
From SHS Parents:
Morgan Hubbard-Mrs. Hubbard goes above and beyond for her students. She sees the unique qualities in every student and allows them to be their whole selves. She makes my son happy to learn and engages with him in a relationship-driven level. She’s amazing!
Jon Dickover-My daughter came home after the first day of school, and it was apparent she didn't really have a good first day. I asked her to try to think of one good thing that happened, and she said "the only good thing that happened was I saw Mr. Dickover, and he said he was happy I was joining the Trapshooting team". My daughter does not have a class with Mr. Dickover this year so she must have ran into him in the hall or walked by his classroom. He took the time to show interest in her, and it made all the difference that day.

Parking and Parking Permits
The parking permit application is only accessible from a Sherwood School District student Google account. The easiest way to access the application is to have the student applying access the application on their District issued Chromebook. The Parking Permit application for Juniors and Seniors is currently available, and contains further information about the permitting process. Sophomores may begin applying on Monday, September 11th. Please note the following items:
- The fee for the permit must be paid before the permit will be issued. Once the form is complete and the fee is paid, permits may be picked up in the main office.
- The front lot is for permitted seniors, ADA parking, and visitors only during the school day. All other students with permits must park in the upper lots on all school days. While the front lot is for permitted seniors only, it has limited capacity. When it is full, permitted seniors must then park in the upper lots They may not create their own spaces or park in visitor spots as an alternative.
- Parking enforcement will begin on Wednesday, September 6th. This means that all students must have their permit visible on their dash or rear-view mirror, be parked in an appropriate student parking spot (not in a visitor spot), and be parked in the correct student lot. The first ticket is a $25 fine, and all further tickets are $50 each.
