Hello Conroe Tiger Families,

Parents and students, thank you for a great homecoming week! It was great to see the students having fun and participating in the different activities on both campuses. We are glad that the students got to make memories and keep the tradition of Homecoming alive.

Here are a few additional updates and reminders:

Final Exam - Final exams will soon be upon us. All students, in-person and remote, will take their final exams on the scheduled day and time. Students who do not take their final exam on the scheduled day and time will receive a zero until they make up their exam when we return in January. Any student that misses an exam will need to schedule a make-up day and time with their teacher. All exams must be made up by Friday, January 22, 2021. The final exam schedule is below!

Platform Switch - The 3rd grading period begins on January 6, 2021. Parents wishing to change their child’s instructional option (Remote/Online to In-Person or In-Person to Remote/Online) for the 3rd Grading Period should contact their campus registrar or assistant principal no later than Tuesday, December 1st, by 8 AM. This will allow the campus time to make needed schedule changes. If there has been no contact from a parent/guardian, no changes will be made to the student’s instructional method

Veterans Day - Next week is Veterans Day, and while CISD will not be able to have a live program to honor our veterans, there will be a link to a virtual celebration beginning on Wednesday, November 11 at 8:00am. Thank you to all our Conroe Tiger Veterans that have served in our branches of the military.

Positions Available - Looking for an opportunity to help our schools? Conroe ISD is now hiring bus drivers and substitutes for paraprofessionals and teachers at all levels! Please visit http://tiny.conroeisd.net/cjR4r for more information and to complete an online application.

Attendance - It is important that our in-person students are present in the building each day for every period unless they are sick. Our virtual students need to log in to each scheduled class and be active in the Canvas course. Virtual students should be active in all 7 courses on Monday, classes 1,3,5,and 7 each Tuesday and Thursday, and classes 2,4,5 and 6 each Wednesday and Friday. Please remember that 5th period meets every day. If your child is going to be absent, In-Person or Virtual, you need to be sure to contact our attendance office to clear up the unexcused absence. Remind your student to utilize the teacher’s attendance quiz button in each course. This will assist in record keeping and assist teachers in verifying course activity. Attendance and truancy notifications will continue to be sent home to both in-person and virtual students.

Important Information For Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors

Remote Learners - Starting Monday, all teachers Canvas pages will have a daily attendance quiz. Remote students will now be required to complete the attendance quiz in all scheduled classes per day. We are hoping this attendance quiz will help reduce attendance discrepancies our remote students are experiencing

Parking Passes - If your child is driving to school please be sure they take care of everything they need to in order to purchase a parking pass.

Car Riders -If you drop your students off before then please know they may not be supervised. Parents that will be dropping off their students, DO NOT drop your student off on Hwy 105! You can either drop off in the front of the building or in the Moorhead Stadium Visitor Parking lot. Please plan for delays with the car rider line.

Important Information For Freshmen

Tutorials Information - At the Ninth Grade campus, students can stay for afterschool tutorials with a pass from their teacher. Tutorials are made by appointment for both in person and virtual students. Students that have an appointment to stay for tutorials will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian at 3:30. Students that do not have a ride will need to register for the CISD Late Bus. Please register your student for the late bus here: https://apps.conroeisd.net/AlternativeTransportation/.

Student Drop-Off - If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. Wednesdays and Fridays have more traffic in the morning. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.

CHS9 Merchandise - We have Class of 2024 t-shirts and hoodies available in the front office at the Ninth Grade Campus. Please have your student stop by if they are interested in purchasing some merchandise.
