Principal's Message
Dear GMS Families,
As we embark upon the final month of the school year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have shared together at GMS. June marks the culmination of a successful year, and it fills me with immense pride to witness the growth and achievements of our students.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the grade 9 class of 2023. You have reached an important milestone in your school journey, and your hard work, dedication, and resilience have paid off. As you prepare to embark on new adventures in high school, remember that the foundation you have built over the years will serve you well. Cherish the memories, friendships, and lessons learned, and always believe in your potential to make a positive impact on the world.
To all our returning students, the end of the school year signifies a time of reflection and renewal. We hope they will all take a moment to celebrate their accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Each new activity, field trip taken, project completed, and obstacle overcome has shaped you into the individuals you are today. Use this time to set new goals and aspirations for the upcoming year. We are close to our summer break which offers an opportunity for rest, rejuvenation, and exploration. Take time to explore new interests, read books that captivate your imagination, and try new activities that nourish your mind and body.
At GMS, we believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive community, and we would like to express our gratitude to our dedicated teachers, staff, and parents for their unwavering commitment. Your tireless efforts have created an environment where students feel valued, empowered, and inspired to reach their full potential. We look forward to working together to provide a safe and nurturing space where all students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
Looking ahead, the upcoming school year holds great promise and endless possibilities. Our staff are already hard at work, preparing to provide an enriching educational experience that caters to the unique needs and interests of our students. We will continue to prioritize learning while fostering a love for curiosity`, critical thinking, and creativity. We look forwar to a year where we will explore innovative approaches and real-world experiences to prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
As we look to close another school year, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support, trust, and partnership. We encourage you all to stay connected over the summer through our school website.
We wish you all a wonderful summer filled with joy, relaxation, and memorable experiences. May this break be a time of reflection and rejuvenation, as we look forward to the start of a new chapter in the life of our school community.
With warm regards,
Mrs. Hunter, Principal of GMS

Caring Communities at GMS
What is self-care and why is it important? Self-care refers to any intentional actions and practices that individuals engage in to promote their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It involves taking care of oneself, such as engaging in activities that promote rest, relaxation, and stress reduction, maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine, seeking medical attention when necessary, and cultivating positive relationships. Self-care is an essential part of maintaining good mental and physical health, and it can help individuals to manage stress, prevent burnout, and improve their overall quality of life.
Creating good self-care strategies involves identifying activities that help you feel relaxed, refreshed, and renewed. Here are a few tips to get started:
- Prioritize self-care: Make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine. Set aside time each day to take care of yourself.
- Find activities that work for you: Experiment with different self-care activities to find what works best for you. It could be anything from taking a bath, going for a walk, or reading a book.
- Make it a habit: Incorporate self-care into your daily routine so it becomes a habit. Set reminders on your phone or calendar to help you remember to take care of yourself.
- Be kind to yourself: Self-care is not selfish. Remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself permission to take a break when you need it.
- Seek support: Don't be afraid to reach out to friends, family, or a professional if you need help creating or sticking to your self-care plan.
