American Education Week
Dear Atholton Families,
This coming week is American Education Week! This week is about appreciating the hard work that goes into providing students with a quality education. It takes an entire cadre of professionals – custodians, cafeteria workers, teachers, administrators, and support staff – to provide that quality education. We hope you will have an opportunity to visit this week to see our professionals in action. We are hopeful that a day in school will further your appreciation of our high school program of studies and provide encouragement for the school work being done by students and teachers. Even if you cannot spend a full day with us, we believe that any part of the day you are here will be interesting for you and supportive of your daughter or son. We look forward to seeing you! We look forward to our families getting involved in the spirit of the week. Together, we can move forward in empowering each of our students to achieve and thrive.
I am looking forward to the fall production of our drama department. This coming Thursday thru Sunday, Mr. Rosen and our students will showcase the production Our Town. I hope you are able to come out and support our wonderfully talented students.
This past Friday evening, the weather broke (rain stopped and warm weather) just in time for some football. The Raider Nation football team continued their undefeated season with a 28-7 victory over Marriotts Ridge in the state playoffs! Please come out to support the team as they continue their charge this coming Friday evening against St. Charles (Charles County, MD).
As we begin our second grading quarter, first-quarter report cards online are now available in HCPSS Connect Synergy. Please be sure to review them and reach out to your child’s teachers with any questions. Furthermore, if you haven’t done so already, please schedule a parent conference (see below). Conferences begin next week, November 21. Directions on how to access report cards can be found online.
Lastly, today is the last day to submit forms for winter athletics tryouts. Please see the information below.
PTSA meeting this week, Tuesday, November 15 @ 7:30 pm.
Have a great week!!
Warmest regards,
Robert A. Motley
Principal
