Panther family welcome to a new school year. It is so good to see everyone. I hope this year is off to a great start and you all are ready to make a difference in the lives of our little panthers. Please know I am here for you and don't hesitate to call me for support. My door is always open.

Media Orientation

Media Orientation is taking place daily during advisory. Watch out for an email with your day. Please be on time.

Student Loaners

Mr. Ogletree is coming around to give laptops. Please email the student's name. Please don't send students to the Media Center. You may also call Ogletree, his extension is 5393.

Media Passes

I am giving the green pass to you during Media Orientation. The green passes are for students wanting to check out books.

Technology

If you have a need for a laptop, web cam, doc cam, or headphones we have them for you. Just send me an email. I will send you the link to the form to submit.

Reserving the Media Center or Computer Lab

When needing to reserve the Media Center please send me an email with the date and time(s). This is a first come, first serve basis.

Scholars should log their minutes in Beanstack daily or weekly. All we ask is that you read for 20 minutes a day. If you read for 20 minutes and log those minutes in Beanstack daily you will have 100 minutes for the week. There are prizes to earn for reading and logging your minutes. I will give away gift cards on 2 Fridays of each month to the students logging the most points. I will also have a free laptop or I-pad at the end of the year for the student with 5000 minutes or more logged for the year.

4. Please encourage students to visit the Media Center to check out books.

5. When reading in class remind students to log their reading minutes in Beanstack. Also, I have class sets of books in the book room. Stop by and choose a book for your class to read.

The Atlanta Hawks Check It Out Reading Challenge has officially started and runs until September 1. When students K-12 check out and read five books, they earn one (1) FREE youth ticket to a select Hawks game during the 2023-2024 season. When students complete the Challenge, they need to visit https://www.nba.com/hawks/community/checkitout and have a parent or guardian fill out the registration form. An adult ticket must be purchased along with the youth ticket. Participants will begin receiving their tickets after October 31.
