Mrs. E. Alfaqeeh's Dual Russian 3rd grade class: Modeling how to connect key details and main ideas using vocabulary work. Using enlarged text from Benchmark students' magazine, teacher models to highlight the key vocabulary/details. Then encouraging kids to use learned vocabulary together they determine main idea.
Bridging in Action
Mrs. Kosovan's Dual Russian 4th/5th grade: Bridging side by side strategy. During the shared reading lesson students have learned about characters, and the next day the teacher asked them to recall vocabulary that they remember from the lesson.

Barriers and Bridges is an activity used to help people discover obstacles and solutions for difficult situations or tasks.
