Kia Māia - Be Courageous
Kia Kaha - Do Your Best
Kia Ora - Be Well
Week 7 @ Puketapu
You may have heard our school fire alarm on Wednesday afternoon. Some baking was cooked a little bit longer than it needed to be, however it was a great practice run for our kura. Our tamariki and kaiako did an amazing job of exiting their areas calmly and quickly. They then lined up in our emergency evacuation area by the netball/basketball courts and waited patiently for the alarm to stop and the all clear to be given. Great work everyone!
This is our second fire alarm in a few weeks and it is great to see the community checking on our school. Please remember, if the fire alarm goes off it will continue to sound until the Fire Brigade arrives and checks all is clear to then turn it off. If it is during school time please do not come and collect your children early as we will want to make sure all children are accounted for. If out of school time, our wonderful Caretaker Mr Quince will already have been notified and usually makes it here before the Fire Brigade.
A perfect fire drill: everyone out, lined up and safely accounted for,
waiting for the fire engines to arrive.
