Testing is in full swing!

Please, please, please make sure your student is present on these days. All testing will be administered in the mornings. We will not have time to get their chromebooks charged before testing begins, so please, please, please also ensure that your student's chromebook is here and charged. Thank you for your help!

Physical Day
Physical Day is May 19th (the link for online payment is below)
MMS will go from 1:00-1:50 at the Event Center
Please have your student bring their physical form with the front page filled out and signed by parent, form of payment or payment receipt with them to help ensure students are able to move efficiently through the line.
Cheer Tryouts
Cheer tryout clinic is May 8th & 10th from 4:30-6:30 at the Old High School Gym (Round Gym)
MMS Cheer tryouts will be May 12th starting at 4:30 at the Old High School Gym (Round Gym)
2023/2024 Fall Sports
The Mustang Middle School coaching staff would like to invite you to be a part of
the Bronco Athletic Program during the 2023-2024 school year.
The following information is important to know if you are playing a fall sport:
Volleyball: Head Coach – Kelsey Sosebee (sosebeek@mustangps.org)
Spring volleyball: Monday, May 8th, Tuesday, May, 9th & Thursday, May 11th from 3:45-5:00 pm at MMS gym. There will be a round of cuts every day with final cuts being Thursday, May 11th. You must bring the appropriate paperwork to try out; the spring tryout waiver. You will need athletic clothes, shoes, and knee pads.
Required parent/player/coach meeting for those that make the team: Monday, July 24th @ 6:00 pm in the MMS gym. Fall volleyball practice for those that make the team: begins on Monday, July 24th (8:00 – 10:00 am) MMS gym
Remind Sign Up Information: will be given on May 11th for those that make the team.
Softball: Head Coach – Amy Jones (jonesa@mustangps.org)
Spring softball: May 15-18, 3:45- 6:00 pm at the MMS softball field. The teams will be announced Thursday, May 18th, after practice.
Required parent/player/coach meeting: Tuesday , August 1st at 6:00 pm– MMS GYM.
Fall softball practice: begins on Tuesday, August 1st (9:00 am-11:00 am) – MMS softball field.

Cross Country: Head Coach – Karen Bridges (bridgesk@mustangps.org)
Spring cross country: May 8th & 9th 7:00 am to 7:50 am at MMS (Coach will walk Horizon students to school afterwards)
Summer Running Club: Starting June 6th every Tuesday and Thursday @ 7:30 am at Wild Horse Park, by the tank and airplane. Come as many days as you want - it’s alright to miss days for camps, vacations, etc. This is a great opportunity to get in great physical shape for any sport that you may want to do at MMS. This is led by MHS Varsity Running Club members. Coaches will be present in the park to provide water, supervision, and safety, only.
Required parent/player/coach meeting: Thursday, August 10th @ 6:00 pm in the MMS gym.
Fall training for the MMS team: begins on Friday, August 11th (7:30-8:45 am) – We will meet in the MMS gym.

8th Grade Football: Head Coach – Brett Coffman (coffmanb@mustangps.org)
-Spring Prep: 8th grade team: May 15-19 and May 22 & 23. Practice will be from 4:00-5:00.
-Spring Pads Camp (Optional) June 2nd & 3rd. Registration fee is $100. To register visit
www.characterleaderscamps.com. Instruction will be given by all Middle School, Freshman and Varsity Bronco Coaches. Offensive & defensive skills development & technique. Character & leadership development.
-Summer Pride begins June 12th.
-Required parent/player/coach meeting: Thursday, August 3rd at 6:00 pm in the MMS gym.
-Fall football practice: begins on Monday, August 7th (Time-TBD) at MMS

**Mandatory Football Parent Meeting for incoming 7th & 8th graders: May 1st at 6:00 in the MMS cafeteria.
Each student must have a completed OSSAA physical form turned in before
he/she can engage in practices and/or games. Students and parents must also
electronically sign the RankOne forms at mustangbroncos.org before
participation is permitted. ** See attached information sheet for instructions**
This year’s team physical day is on Friday, May 19th at the high school event
center. ***See attached sheets for further information *** Of course, you can always go to your own personal physician for your physical, but please make sure that you take a current O.S.S.A.A. form with you when you go.
DO NOT GET A SPORTS PHYSICAL BEFORE MAY 1st!!!!
Other competitive sports that 7th and 8th grade students can participate in at MMS
include wrestling, basketball, track, tennis, and golf. More information about those
sports will be available at a later date.We hope that you will make a serious consideration to become part of the Bronco Athletic Program at Mustang Middle School for this upcoming school year.

Chromebook Check In
W.I.N. Time
The goal of W.I.N. Time is to give students 30 minutes a day once or twice a week to provide opportunities for intervention or extension in areas of need. Students will either be placed or have the opportunity to choose from classes that have extra help or enrichment activities.

Using Canvas From Home:
To access Canvas from home, students will need to go to: https://mustangps.instructure.com/login/canvas
When they log on, they will need to select log in with google.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up
It is also important to note that no parents should line up on the West side of the building to pick up students in the afternoon.
The Mustang Police Department will soon help assist in reinforcing safe drop off and exit procedures for students.
School Hours
Classes are 8:40 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.
The building is open 8:10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day
Please do not drop off your student(s) prior to 8:10am. Students will not be allowed to enter prior to that time regardless of weather conditions, and there is no supervision.
If you are coming to MMS, please come through the Front (West) Doors and check-in at the office.
