Dear Galesburg-Augusta High School Families,

On behalf of all the high school staff, I would like to welcome you to the upcoming 2023-2024 school year! We are RAMped up and looking forward to a year of success, accountability and community. The G-AHS staff remains focused upon both the academic and social-emotional success of every student and classroom.

The high school will be working to build community, spirit and excellence in everything we do. This starts with relationships built on trust, ownership and effort. In order to be our best we must bring our best everyday. Respecting self and others, Achieving responsibilities, and Managing ourselves responsibly will equal Success in the classroom and school. The staff at G-AHS look forward to partnering with families in making the 2023-2024 school year productive and meaningful for all.

We will host an Open House on Wednesday, August 23rd from 6:30-7:30pm. This provides the opportunity to familiarize yourself with any changes in the building, meet with the staff, complete forms, update information in our system, get schedules and have some fun with meeting your class advisors, AFGAK rams, get your schedule, and order some G-A apparel.

I hope you are having a great summer. Remember as August 28th approaches, it’s important to start to get back in routine. This starts with getting to bed at a decent hour and waking up a little earlier each morning. Please note that the first day of school is August 28th.

Our counselors office is working to finish up schedules and tie loose ends. If you were part of our RAM FAM last year, just know we are 124,560 miles ahead of where we were last year. We currently have PowerSchool paused so that we can focus on completing schedules. At Open House we will have communication on how to make change requests if needed. If you need the counselor's office for any questions you may have 269-484-2103. Mrs. Amber Couch our counselor secretary and Mrs. Bethany Stanton, counselor are available starting the week of August 21st. Access your (or your child's) schedule, grades, assignments and attendance data using the PowerSchool program. Access the PowerSchool portal to complete all forms and permissions is still accessible. While we are are working on schedules you can help move things forward by completing all permissions INCLUDING the AUP/Internet form so that you can get a Chromebook the first week of school. Forms must be completed in order to get your schedule at open house. Please help us make this happen. :)

Workforce Wednesdays: A focus on career development!

We’re excited to announce that Galesburg-Augusta high school is making career development a priority for all students! We are revamping the way we engage in career development through Workforce Wednesdays, a dedicated time designed to empower students to take ownership of their futures.

During Workforce Wednesdays, students will have the opportunity to:

• Gain insights into their unique qualities, passions, and aspirations.

• Explore a variety of career options across various industries.

• Formulate a future plan that’s right for them!

We look forward to having in-depth career-related conversations, connecting with professionals, and helping students explore how their interests, skills, and talents fit into the world of work. We're committed to supporting students in planning their next steps. By integrating career awareness and preparation into the Galesburg-Augusta experience, we know our students will be ready…Ram Ready!
