Lunar Celebration at Tuesday's Ladies Night!
We'll be celebrating all things lunar at our second Ladies Night on Tuesday (7/16), the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11 to land astronauts on the moon.
Our party comes two weeks after the moon totally eclipsed the sun; Tuesday it will be the moon's turn to undergo an eclipse of its own.
The full moon, in Sagittarius, will pass partway through the southern part of the Earth's shadow, resulting in a partial lunar eclipse that will be visible in Africa, Europe, and Asia.
While none of us in the Northern Hemisphere will be able to see this eclipse, we were able to see the spectacular Super Blood Wolf Moon of 2019 a few months back.
And Tuesday is just four days until the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Were you around? Do you remember? Come reminisce!
The Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum will project the image of a full-sized, 363-foot Saturn V rocket onto the east face of the Washington Monument Tuesday-Thursday from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Get in the mood!

We'll gather under the Full Buck Moon at 7 p.m.
The pool will close to non-party goers for our event at 8:45 p.m. Our party will run until 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
Cost: $5 for adult pool members, $7 for their adult guests. Our free coupons aren't accepted for these events.
Members Tricia O'Reilly and Cathy Ebner will be the hosts. They ask that you bring a salad, appetizer or dessert to share that's lunar-themed.
Soft drinks will be provided. Bring your own beer, wine, or alcoholic beverage.
We have the minimum number of RSVPs but there's plenty of room for more ladies. Just let Tricia know you're coming at pkocpa01@gmail.com .

Holy Chow, the kosher Chinese take-out restaurant in the Kemp Mill Shopping Center, is giving our swim team a percentage of all sales it delivers to our pool through the end of summer!

Deliveries to the pool also are free at 5:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays through July 18th!
The restaurant's standard $5 delivery fee applies at all other times.

The swim team season is winding down for the Kemp Mill 'Roos. Sunday, July 28th - Pizza Night at the Pool - 5-7 p.m. or while supplies last. We didn't have enough pizzas available a week ago, but tonight we had some left over! Not good! The pizza comes from Ben Yehuda. We're selling it by the slice for $3.50, two slices for $6; and a whole pie, $22, cash or credit poolside (a transaction fee will apply for the latter). Note new date! Sunday, August 17th – Teen Night at the Pool - 6-10 p.m. The pool closes to non-party goers at 8:45 p.m. Cost: $5 for pool members and their guests. Bring a friend! Ice cream will be served. No free coupons accepted. Need at least 15 people to hold event. Our membership director Amie Wohlfarth will be the event's organizer. About Us
Please do not park even momentarily in the driveway next to the building. That's a fire lane and it must be kept clear for emergency vehicles.
Now that the public schools have closed, our operating hours are:
- Mon.-Thurs. 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
- Fri. 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Sat.-Sun. 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Our hours will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m., on Labor Day, Sept. 2nd, the last day of the 2019 season.
Guest Fees
Weekday fees for general guest privileges are $6 per person per day Monday-Friday at any time of day.
Guest fees apply to adult, children, and all babies who are capable of walking on their own.
On Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, the guest fee is $8 per person per day.
Members may purchase punch cards containing 10 guest passes for $60.
