Halloween Message to Families
How We're Celebrating! 🎃
Dear Families,
Please read the following for all the information you need to know about our school's celebration of Halloween!
Thank you for your cooperation! We are looking forward to a safe, fun, & spooky day at school!

Halloween Party 🎃
We are very fortunate to have a PTA that works to create wonderful experiences for our students. As the PTA plans for our party on Tuesday, October 31, they will be asking parents to please provide $6.00 for each child, which will cover the costs of both the Halloween/Fall party and the party for Valentine’s Day. These funds will be used to purchase supplies for the classroom party. In regards to the room parents, the PTA will communicate with those parents on specific details for the party. Please know that only room parents will be allowed at the classroom party.
Costume Rules 🧟♂️
Students will have the opportunity to change into their costumes during part of their recess at the lunch hour. Costumes will need to go over their clothing. Students should not wear their costumes to school unless they are AM kindergarten students.
In regards to student costumes we want to ensure that students’ costumes are aligned with the expectations that are set out in the district’s parent handbook. Students are permitted to wear costumes as long as their attire complies with the above student appearance policy and meets the following set of expectations for a school setting:
- Children should not wear bloody, gruesome, or especially scary costumes. Costumes involving fake blood are not allowed.
- Actual weapons, look-alike weapons, toy weapons or weapon-like objects are not allowed.
- Masks that cover the face and head are not allowed.
- Costume make-up is allowed provided it does not cover the student’s entire face. Staff members must be able to identify students.
- Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate about someone’s culture, gender, heritage or religion are not allowed.
Parade Details
Weather permitting, we will have an outdoor parade. The parade route is being determined based on construction operations as we are not able to walk the perimeter of the school this year. Parents are welcome to observe the parade and enjoy the costumes. If the weather does not cooperate, we will host an indoor parade for our students, but unfortunately parents will not be able to observe the indoor parade.
Parents that have students in the morning kindergarten class, should keep an eye out for a letter from their child’s teacher. Students in the morning kindergarten class will have a class party in the morning. Only our kindergarten students should be wearing their costumes to school on Tuesday, October 31st.
