Hy Vee Receipt Collection Competition:

It is that time! Our Hy Vee Receipt Collection Competition for the spring is about the kick off. Learners are encouraged to bring in any Hy Vee receipts to turn in here at school. For every $200 in receipts we collect, the school receives $1. Last fall we raised over $450!!! I think we can do it again!

Flyers and bags for receipt collection are coming home this week. The competition runs from February 27-March 8. The team with the highest receipt total(s) wins a Popcorn Party celebration on March 22. Teams are:

• Kindergarten, 1st Grade, & Strat II (Autism)
• Green Team
• Gold Team

Last time, kindergarten/1st grade/Strat II brought home the win. Maybe this time one of the Personalized Teams will win the prize? See the flyer below for more information.

Nixon Family Event:

Our next Family and Community Engagement event will be on March 7 from 5:00-6:30 pm. We'll have dinner, family activities, and a whole lot of fun! More information coming soon. Be sure to mark your calendars!

• Box Tops for Education- hopefully you have the app downloaded. And every time you shop (any store) just get on the app, and submit your receipt (you will take a picture of your receipt within the app or there is a way to submit digital receipts now as well). And if you purchase any "box top" items it will credit us, just make sure to connect to Nixon Elementary in Hiawatha! Just a heads up to try and scan those receipts right at purchase. You do always have to have the date showing when you scan the receipt, and it HAS to be done within 2 weeks of purchase date. Each box top is worth 10 cents!
• There are some GREAT bonus offers right now in the app! So don't forget to check those out!
• 40 bonus plus a doubling bonus when you buy 4 box top products in one transaction at Target (between now and Feb 4th)
• 20 bonus box tops at Sam's Club when you buy 2 participating products in a single transaction through the month of January
• 50 bonus box tops at HyVee when you buy any 5 participating products in a single transaction through the month of January
• 20 bonus box tops at Walmart when you buy any 2 participating products in a single transaction between now and February 14th.
• There's a variety of smaller bonuses as well.
