Construction started late last week on our new outdoor classroom. Through generous funding from the Simmons Home and School Association, this new learning space will allow classes to learn outside throughout the school year. It is located in the back of the school, near the Jarrett Nature Center trailer and behind the art room. The finished structure will have a concrete floor so that all students can access the space. Over the winter months, faculty and students will select seating options and design raised garden beds to enhance the space. We will also add storage options for the classroom. We look forward to sharing with you in the coming months the ways that our teachers and students are using this flexible outdoor space to enhance learning.
A reminder that Winter Break begins with an early dismissal next Friday, December 22, at 1 p.m. School will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2024.
