UND NSPA Monthly Communiqué
December 2020, Issue 7
Continuity in Higher Education
Wow! I cannot believe that this semester is already coming to a close. While many aspects of our lives have been turned upside down, national and international scholarship opportunities have been mostly unaffected. Scholarships continue to open without much alteration to their application guidelines. These scholarships serve a critical function in higher education by anchoring experiences of reliability and continuity for students. They communicate the importance of acquiring new learning through creativity. I am very grateful to be a part of an aspect of higher education that offers such stability for students.
Wrapping up this semester, my NSPA students are organizing a National Scholarship Ceremony scheduled to honor UND students who advanced in last year's scholarship competitions. They also are producing a newsletter reviewing this semester's scholarship activities and themes. I will share that newsletter separately in mid-December.
While everyone is on break, I would like to remind you that the national and international scholarship due dates continue to roll out. In this issue, I highlight scholarships that help develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and math and those that provide opportunities for advanced study in political science.
Have a great holiday break,
Yee Han Chu
