Last week of school!
This week's schedule: Every day is a different dismissal, please read
Monday- 4, 5, 6 (Dismissal at 1:30pm)
Tuesday- Period 1, 2, CREW 3 (Dismissal at 2:55pm)
Wednesday-Period 4, 5, 6 (Dismissal at 12:15pm)
Thursday -Period 1, 2, CREW, 3 (Dismissal at 2:55pm)
Friday- Period 4, 5, 6 (Dismissal at 12:15pm)- Front parking lot will be closed for after school pick up. Lupe side parking lot will be the only parking lot open for student pick up.
Textbook return
Students, please bring your textbooks that are at home and return them to the library this week.
8th grade students, all books and Chromebooks must be turned in by Tuesday June 11, 2024.
2024 Principal's Challenge Update:
Students who have met ALL 3 qualifications for the Principal's Challenge will be rewarded on the last day of school. Remember, these are the qualifications:
1. Earn Renaissance (any level of Bronze, Silver, or Gold).
2 Have ZERO unexcused tardies for the entire school year (August-June)
3. Have ZERO behavior/discipline entries for the entire school year (August-June)
Parents, we do need your help on this day. We are looking for volunteers and donations of water.

Summer Chromebook information
Conejo Valley Unified School District is pleased to provide students with the opportunity to participate in the District's 1:1 Chromebook Program.
Students who are returning for the next school year, will be eligible to keep their District-issued device over the summer and ​use them in the 2024-2025 school year.
If you choose to keep your Chromebook, please keep it stored in a safe, dry place when not in use and continue to follow the guidelines outlined in the Chromebook Loan Agreement.
Note that District Chromebook usage, even on home internet connections, is filtered and subject to the Student Acceptable Use Policy. For information regarding support options available over the summer, please visit the Technology Services website.
Families choosing to return their Chromebooks or families moving/unenrolling from CVUSD may return their device to Sequoia Middle School.
Office hours to return Chromebooks: June 10th, 11th, 13th, from 8:00am-3:30pm, June 14th from 8:00am- 2:00pm. June 17 and June 18 from 9:00am-3:00pm. Front office closed on June 19, 2024. You must bring your power adapter and power cord along with your Chromebook when returning your device.
CHROMEBOOK REFRESH PROCESS
As part of the District's annual Chromebook refresh process, Technology Services will be collecting Chromebooks from all 2nd, 5th and 8th graders at the end of the school year. Students in these grade levels will be issued a new device at their new school site in the fall.
Students in 2nd, 5th and 8th grade that require a Chromebook for summer school or a CVUSD sponsored summer program, will be issued a loaner device for their use at their designated summer school. This device should be returned at the end of the summer program.

Quarter 4 ZERO unexcused tardies reward:
Students who earned ZERO tardies for all of Quarter 4 will be rewarded on the last day of school.
Zero Period classes:
No Zero Period classes this week.
Locker Cleanout schedule:
7th grade- Tuesday, June 11, 2024 during CREW
6th grade- Thursday, June 13, 2024 during CREW
Student ID Cards:
Students need to have their ID cards for entry into the school activities. This includes field trips that are coming 8th grade activities. Replacement cards are $10
Academic Grades:
Families and students, please makes sure to log on to your Q portals to keep an eye on class grades.
Eighth grade families- please read:
Please remember to be checking your students grades and reminding them to follow behavior expectations on campus. All 8th grade students must pass English/math every semester along with their other classes and have no suspensions to be eligible for promotion activities. Activities include the Promotion Dance, 8th grade Magic Mountain field trip, and the 8th grade Promotion Ceremony. Please visit the Sequoia website for access to the Promotion Newsletter.
2024 Promotion Ceremony is scheduled on: June 12, 2024 at 2:30pm
Backpacks and Lockers:
All student backpacks/bags are expected to be stored in student lockers once they arrive on campus. Backpacks/bags are not to be used on campus throughout the day. We have plenty of time between class periods to access book lockers and pick up all materials needed for their classes.
No locker sharing/swapping. Each student has been assigned a locker for this school year, do not share your locker with anyone and do not share your combination. Keep your items secure.
Student Behavior Expectations:
Please review the school rules and expectations that are found in the student handbook.
Cell Phones/Air pods/Earbuds are not to be used during the school day. The first violation, the device will be brought to the office. On the second violation, parents/guardians will be required to pick up their student's device from the school office as well as detentions being assigned to the student. We ask that all guardians review appropriate cell phone responsibility with their students.
Students that are seen video recording on the campus will be given a Tuesday after school/Saturday School or an off-campus suspension.
Students, keep your hands to yourself and respect the space of others.
Play fighting/fighting is unacceptable on campus and will lead to a meeting with administration and disciplinary actions, which may include Tuesday after school/Saturday School/or Off Campus Suspension. Students, your actions are a reflection of Sequoia Middle School. If you are having a conflict with a student, please report report report. We are here to assist.
Students must listen to the directions of all the adults on campus. Campus Supervisors are here to support campus safety.
For the safety of all students, we need to walk on campus and not run.
