Coyote Update
Chandler Early College High School Vol 1 Issue 3
Scaringelli's Segment
A few changes coming to CEC:
During passing periods students are expected to stay close to the building. Areas where they can wait for the next period are:
- Front of building
- Cement wall
- Tables west of the building
- Students are not permitted to go to cafeteria or vending machines without a staff member during breaks.
- Students are not permitted to go to their vehicle during this time. If they forgot something in their vehicle, they need to go to the front office for permission.
- All CUSD schools require permission before going to your car.
Lunchtime
- CEC is now a closed campus
- No high school student in CUSD is allowed to drive their vehicles off campus for lunch. We will follow the same protocol.
- Students may order a lunch through CUSD or bring their own lunch to ensure they have enough time to eat.
- Students may buy food in the CGCC Cafeteria, but they must bring it back to be eaten in one of the approved areas (rotating classroom, tables west of the building, cement wall, front of building). Buying food from CGCC may not guarantee a student to have enough time to eat.
- Students may not sit in their vehicle during lunch.
Carpooling:
- With parent permission, a student may take another student to and from school. Please contact me with this information.
- Students are not allowed to be in other student's vehicles during the school day.
Student Safety is our top priority!
CEC staff would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! May you be surrounded by family and friends during this time.
"Be present in all things, and thankful for all things."

Attendance
Please make sure to call the attendance line (480.224.3067) to excuse your child if they are feeling ill. If your child is going to be tardy or leave early, you can either send a text to your child or call the attendance line.
Silver Apple Award
Google defines a teacher as a person who helps students acquire knowledge, competence, or virtue.
Our three teachers definitely fit that description, but they are so much more to our students. As a small school, students get close with their teachers and our teachers look after their students as if they were their own. They make the time to listen to their students and really hear what they are saying. They encourage them to get their classes completed and to come to school every day. All our teachers use their prep hour to tutor students that are struggling. Did you know that our teachers rotate having lunch in their room so no student would have to eat alone?
We are truly fortunate to have three amazing, multi-talented teachers to take care of our students. Channel 3 News and Arizona Bank & Trust sponsor the Silver Apple Award to honor outstanding Arizona teachers. If you would like to show your support and appreciation of our teachers, have your child fill out a nomination form.
Grand Canyon University and Northern Arizona University Highlights
Students also received a field trip permission slip to tour GCU's campus on December 5th. Please make sure that students return their permission slip signed and their lunch order by November 23rd.
