ST. THERESE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #6320 SCHOLARSHIP
St. Therese Knights of Columbus Scholarship Program. Knights of Columbus Council 6320 will award three $1500.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are continuing their education. These will be one-time amounts for their freshman year. The applicant must complete all sections of the application and obtain two letters of recommendation from non-family members, who can attest to his/her character.
Criteria for Consideration:
- Must be a child or grandchild of a current or deceased member of St. Therese Knights of Columbus Council 6320, Succasunna, NJ.
- Must be a graduating high school senior.
- Must complete an application and supply all requested information by May 10th, 2024.
- Must be accepted and attend a two or four year college or university or post secondary trade or technical school in the Fall, 2024 semester.
Completed applications and other required information must be sent to GK Michael Spiecker, 8 Jessica Lane, Succasunna NJ 07876. by May 10th 2024. I will then remove all identifying information (i.e., name, address, social security number and name of Brother Knight) and forward the application to the scholarship committee to assure anonymity during the review process. Scholarships will be announced by mid-June 2024.

UNICO Foundation Scholarships
UNICO Foundation, Inc. will grant four $6,000 scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending, full time, an accredited campus based college/university program in the United States, each at $1,500 per school year, up to a maximum of 4 years.
With this application, you will be applying for all four of the following scholarships:

REQUIREMENTS
STANDARDS FOR CONSIDERATION & ELIGIBILITY:
A. Italian Origin: The candidate shall be a United States citizen of Italian descent, i.e. must have at least one parent of Italian heritage. Documented and notarized proof may be requested by the selection committee, if necessary.
B. Sponsorship: An applicant must reside in the home state of an active UNICO Chapter. Every UNICO Chapter or District, in good standing, may sponsor candidates for each of the UNICO Foundation scholarships.
C. Educational Requirements: A candidate must be a senior at any public or private secondary school. The candidate must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5. Proof of college enrollment must be provided prior to issuing the scholarship award check.
D. Financial Need: Financial need will be considered. In assessing need, the numbers, ages and schooling requirements of siblings and other extraordinary expenses will be taken into account.
E. Family Members: Family members of UNICANS may be sponsored by their respective Chapters.
F. Timeframe: The candidate must pursue his/her course of college study within the academic year of the scholarship grant. Any deviation will result in forfeiture.

A) Be a high school senior who will be pursuing a four-year degree in nursing.
B) Be involved in volunteer work or other extracurricular activities outside of school.

John Lennon Scholarship
John Lennon Scholarships - (Deadline: February 15, 2024)
The John Lennon Award is an annual competition open to student songwriters and composers of contemporary musical genres including alternative, pop, rock, indie, electronica, R&B, and experimental. Over the past twenty years, more than $400,000 in scholarships has been awarded to talented young musicians throughout the United States, making this award one of the nation’s most esteemed accolades for emerging songwriters.
Established in 1997 by Yoko Ono in conjunction with the BMI Foundation, this scholarship program honors the memory of one of the preeminent songwriters of the 20th century. Lennon’s enormous creative legacy includes “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Strawberry Fields,” “Imagine,” “I Am the Walrus,” “All You Need Is Love,” and “Come Together,” and continues to inspire and uplift new generations of music lovers around the world.
Through the generosity of Ono and Gibson Musical Instruments, three scholarships totaling $20,000 are presented annually for the best original songs submitted to the competition. Works are judged by a prestigious panel of music publishers, songwriters, musicians, and executives. BMI’s Vice President, Creative, New York Samantha Cox, and Tim Pattison, Director, Creative, New York, oversee the competition. Together they bring over 30 years of experience working with and developing the careers of emerging songwriters and artists.
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be between the ages of 17 and 24 as of February 15, 2024.
B) Submit musical works that have not been assigned to any major music publisher or major record label.

Farm Kids for College Scholarship
National Farmers launched scholarship program more than two decades ago to invest in the future of agriculture-oriented young people. Farm Kids for College Scholarship winners have pursued degrees in agronomy, agribusiness, dairy science, animal science, farm business and more. The adventures agriculture provides are many, and the Farm Kids for College contest helps students in their college pursuits at four-year colleges or technical and community colleges.
“Our 2024 Farm Kids for College Scholarship competition application materials are available now, and we look forward to seeing applications from students devoted to lives in agriculture,” said Perry Garner, National Farmers national scholarship coordinator.
High school seniors planning to earn an agricultural degree from an accredited college or university are eligible, and must submit materials by Feb. 20, 2024. Based upon competitive selection, National Farmers will announce three national scholarship winners April 9, 2024.
Three winners will receive either $2500, $1500, or $1,000 toward their freshman year in college.
To be eligible for the National Farmers Farm Kids for College Scholarship, you must:
- Be a high school senior in the U.S.
- Major in an agricultural field at an accredited college or university

Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship
Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship
It is important to acknowledge the sacrifices of our servicemembers who preserve our freedom, but that is not enough. The sacrifices of the children of those who served should also be honored. Providing funds to assist these children so they can pursue higher education is a concrete way of showing how much we, as a nation, care.
The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors the Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship to support the children of our warriors. These scholarships are awarded to 15 students annually who excel in academics and volunteer in their communities.
Scholarship Rules
- Candidates for this award shall be direct descendants of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; and any time after December 7, 1941. Membership in The American Legion Family is not required for this scholarship.
- Applicants must be in their senior year of high school.
- This is a scholarship to attend an accredited institution of higher education.
- Applicants must complete 50 hours of volunteer service within the community during their high school years. Hours must be verified in writing by the recipient organization(s).
- Completed applications are DUE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 1, 11:59 PM Eastern.
- Judging, at all levels, shall be on the following basis:
- 30% - Character/Leadership
- 30% - Essay/Application
- 40% - Academic Achievement
Back and Better Scholarship

To support those who are determined to learn from their mistakes, we are excited to announce the 2023 Back and Better Scholarship. Through the Back and Better Scholarship, students are encouraged to answer the following prompt for the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship: In 750-1,000 words, tell us about a time you received a second chance – how did you respond to this opportunity, and what valuable lesson did you learn?
Eligibility
- The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student, or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a vocational program or two to five-year post-secondary institution for the upcoming 2023 school year.
- Employees of Groth & Associates, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
Application Requirements
- The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Tell us about a time you received a second chance – how did you respond to this opportunity, and what valuable lesson did you learn?
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
The recipient of the Back and Better Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.

BMW/SAE Engineering Scholarship
This scholarship is provided by BMW AG in recognition of its commitment to excellence in engineering. BMW is world famous for designing and building luxury, high-performance passenger cars and motorcycles. The company is also a leader in developing and manufacturing high technology, high performance internal combustion engines.
Applicants must demonstrate active participation in extracurricular science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities that take place outside the classroom (such as in clubs or in association with other organizations).
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. resident.
- Must be an Incoming Freshman
- Minimum unweighted 3.75 grade point average
- Pursue an engineering or related science degree through an ABET accredited program with an interest in with an interest in mobility and advanced or emerging technologies such as (but not limited to) Automated and Unmanned, Connectivity, Cybersecurity, Shared or Micro Mobility and/or Electrification, Quantum Computing or Blockchain.
- Provide two (2) Letters of Recommendation - one (1) that focuses on academics and one (1) that speaks to your involvement in extra-curricular activities or employment
- Participation in a STEM-related extra-curricular activity /club or employment/shadowing that relates to your intended engineering major
Applications for the 2023/24 academic year have closed. Applications for the 2024/25 academic year will open February 1, 2024.
HOW TO APPLY:
New Jersey Survivor Tuition Benefits Program
The Survivor Tuition Benefits Program (STB) is offered to eligible children and surviving spouses of New Jersey firefighters, emergency service workers and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty to earn a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens or eligible to file the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application, be enrolled at least half-time in an undergraduate program at an approved New Jersey college, university or degree-granting proprietary school and maintain satisfactory academic progress. The STB award provides students with free tuition at any public institution of higher education in New Jersey. It also pays for enrollment at participating independent institutions. This is offered twice a year. Dollar amounts will vary.
HESAA, the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, is the only New Jersey state agency with the sole mission of providing students and families with financial and informational resources for students to pursue their education beyond high school. The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority provides many merit and need-based programs. Merit-based programs include the New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship, while need-based programs include many awards, such as the Survivor Tuition Benefits Program.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WATER COMPANIES
The New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies Association is offering two $5,000 scholarships to high school students or graduates who will be attending a New Jersey college or university and are interested in the water utility industry or related field.

This scholarship is being offered to all candidates who meet the following criteria:
- United States citizen
- A New Jersey resident for 5 years
- Presently pursuing a degree at a New Jersey college or university (two or four year) as a high school senior or high school graduate (part or full- time)
- Be maintaing at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA grading scale.
- Be interested in the water utility industry or in any related field , such as, natural resource management, environmental science, biology, chemistry, engineering, communication, computer science, business administration, human resources, consumer affairs, law, accounting, finance, etc.
The application must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2024. In addition, it is the responsibility of the student to see that we receive three letters of recommendation plus a copy of their transcript by March 31, 2024.

Animal Welfare Institute Scholarship
WHO CAN APPLY?
High school seniors in the United States are eligible to apply for this scholarship if they (1) have demonstrated a commitment to animal welfare through volunteer work and/or advocacy and (2) intend to pursue a career that will seek to reduce animal suffering and protect vulnerable species. Applicants will be required to submit two letters of recommendation from individuals (not family members) who can speak to the applicant’s education record and commitment to animal welfare. One letter of recommendation should be from someone working at the applicant’s school who can speak to the applicant’s abilities as a student, and the other from someone involved with or directly aware of efforts by the student to help protect animals. If selected as a finalist, the applicant will be required to supply confirmation of acceptance to a college or university prior to scholarship distribution.
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?
Applications will be accepted from Friday, December 1, 2023, through Saturday, March 16, 2024 (11:30 p.m. ET submission deadline). Recipients will be announced by April 26, 2024.
HOW WILL APPLICATIONS BE REVIEWED?
A committee from the Animal Welfare Institute will review applications and choose recipients who have a strong track record of advocating for animals and an impressive and clear plan to continue working to reduce the human-inflicted suffering of animals. This committee will also review and confirm the required letters of recommendation.
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THE AWARD?
All applicants will receive a subscription to the AWI Quarterly magazine. Up to 12 applicants will be chosen to receive scholarships, worth $3,000 each.*

The Peyton Heart Project Volunteerism Scholarship
The purpose of The Peyton Heart Project is to help raise global awareness about suicide, bullying, and to help end the stigma surrounding mental health issues. We have created The Peyton Heart Project Volunteerism Scholarship because we feel that volunteering your time in your community not only enriches your life but the lives of those you help.
Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded.
Requirements:
~Be a graduating Morris County high school senior in June 2024.
~Have an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
~Be attending college in the fall of 2024 as a full-time student.
~Have volunteered in your community for at least 20 hours in the past 4 years.
~Write a one-page essay of at least 300 words describing your volunteer work over the last four years.
Talk about what you believe the impact volunteering has on the community and on you personally.

Collegium Pharmaceutical has established a scholarship program to assist those who plan to continue their education in college. The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Collegium Pharmaceutical Scholarship Program must:
- Be a high school senior or graduate who is entering their first year of undergraduate education.*
- Be a legal resident of the state of Massachusetts currently.
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States the entire upcoming academic year.
