FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Parents/Guardians
I hope you have all had a wonderful week. Our students had a school-wide dance party today. They earned this by filling up the ticket window with Bluejacket Pride Tickets. We are very proud of them! It was a great event and so fun to see all the smiles and excitement.
We saw some great growth from fall to winter with our reading and math scores. This again is a direct result of the great partnership we have with all of you and also the great instruction supporting our students so they can make the needed connections with reading and math skills.
Next week I am excited to have lunch with our top coffee fundraising students in each class. On the 30th I will be having a pizza party with the students that had the top sales in each class. Thanks again for supporting our PTO in this fundraiser with One Last Cup.
Next week we will be finishing our month out and welcoming in February. We will be kicking off our "I Love to Read Month" with many fun events. I welcome you to join us next Thursday night from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. to hear some great stories and enjoy an evening of Family Reading Night.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Take care
Shane Dordal

Family Reading Night - Reading Around the World
Come join us in the Media Center on Thursday, February 1st, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for a fun night of guest readers featuring Firefighter Al, Principal Dordal, some of your favorite teachers and CIHS high school students!. Wear your pajamas, bring your favorite stuffy and enjoy a snack. There will be a book swap so bring an old book you no longer read and exchange it for a different one. See you then!
Lost and Found
Please plan to look through the lost and found bins before everything is removed and donated after conferences. You will also have the opportunity next Thursday, February 1, during Family Reading Night. After school is another great time to come and look. Door 1 and the interior doors are unlocked from 2:30-6:00 p.m. on school days.

REPEAT Winter Weather Reminders
REPEAT Morning Drop off & After School Pick up
Morning Drop off: The car line is located at the north end of the building (in the back) to drop off students from 7:15 to 7:25 a.m. The drop off line ends 7:25 a.m. After that, cars will need to park in the gravel parking lot to the northeast of the building. Our crossing guard will be there until 7:30 a.m. to help cross students across the road. Students arriving after 7:35 a.m. will have to check in the office (Door 1) for a late slip.
Afternoon Pick up: At 2:05 p.m., students who ride the bus will be dismissed and the buses will leave by 2:10 p.m. Parent pick up will take place at the north end of the building immediately following the exit of the buses. We will once again be using the Car Line QR Code system. Only Compass Learning and Lit'l Sprouts Child Care Center vans will be in the front of the building for picking up students who attend their child care centers. Walkers who reside south of IPS are dismissed to the front so they can cross with the crossing guard. Walkers that live north of IPS are dismissed out the back.
