A WORD FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Eagles,
It has been great to be with our students for the first two days of school! We’ve spent the last 2 days engaging students in conversations regarding our Core Values and Eagle Expectations, which we’ve implemented to create a more safe environment that’s conducive to learning. Please talk with your student(s) at home to help reinforce these concepts.
Also, here are a few reminders to help the school year go smoothly:
The Office will not accept food deliveries. All food deliveries must be done during lunch ONLY and must be picked up in person by the student. All students are able to get food from the cafeteria for free at break and lunch.
If you haven’t done so already, please log into Homelink and complete the data confirmation process.
Please encourage your student to get to class on time.
Please remind your student to bring their chromebook to school each day fully charged.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Looking forward to a great school year with your students,
Go Eagles!

Please keep in mind that not all requests will be granted due to classes being full. The last day to request for a change on your schedule is this Friday, August 26.
Seniors: The counselors will soon meet with you through this year’s Senior Guidance Talks to go over the college application, FAFSA, and the scholarship process.
Mental Health Counseling: Quick Reminder, AGHS does have mental health counselors on campus. If interested, your first step is to either set up an appointment to meet with your school counselor or ask to speak with Mrs. Martinez who is located in the administration office.

Scholarships
ELKS TEENAGER OF THE MONTH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Oceano/Five Cities Elks Lodge #2504 selects an AGHS senior male and female each month based on achievements, character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastics. The Teenager of the Month will be recognized at an Elk’s dinner and will then be eligible for selection of "Teenager of the Year". Monthly for the 22'23 School Year - Completed application should be submitted to Brianna.boyd@lmusd.org. Students only need to apply once. If your application is not chosen in a given month, it will be considered for the following month. The sooner you turn in an application, the more opportunities you will have for selection. At the end of April, we have a panel of Elks Members judge the Student of the Month Applications. From this pool, we will select one male and one female who will each receive a college scholarship.
Go to the AGHS Website under scholarships for more information or stop by the Career Center.
