HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
SEAL OF BILITERACY
Each year students who are fluent in a second language are eligible to receive their Seal of Biliteracy. This year 24 students have already received this award and there are many more to come. Congratulations to not only our students for this impressive achievement but also our staff for preparing our students!
ARMENIAN CLUB
The Armenian Club at Watertown High School organized a highly successful bake sale, raising nearly $1,200 to support the Armenian Relief Society (ARS). The event was led by club co-presidents Ishkhan Ishkhanian and Gacia Haserjian, along with their dedicated teacher advisor, Siran Tamakian.

Halloween Fun
Some of WHS students (and staff) partook in some not-so-scary costumes to have fun with the Halloween holiday, including the office staff (pictured here).

WHS SPECIAL EDUCATION UPDATE
Ms. Sara York's last day as WHS Team Chair was earlier this week. While we move through the hiring process for a new Team Chair, Jason DelPorto, Assistant Director of Student Services, Sadye Ezersky, Special Education Program Director, and Penelope Giannakapolous, Out of District Team Chair, will lead IEP meetings and be a family's point of contact as they move through the Special Education process. As usual, please reach out to a student's liaison if you have specific questions, or contact Adrienne Eaton, Interim Assistant Principal, who can put you in touch with the correct staff member.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS
COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL
Coffee with the Principal is back again this year! This is a time for families to have an open discussion with a light agenda. Example discussion topics include updates on our new building, general student questions, and how to get involved with WHS events. In order to accommodate all, please submit your vote for your preferred meeting time here. This is an in-person event at the Moxley high school with light refreshments and bagels.
PICTURE RETAKES
If your student missed picture day or would like to retake their student photo they can do so on November 3rd. No prior registration is required. Photos will be taken in the media center. Students will be notified when it is their turn to go.
Report Cards
Quarter 1 will end on November 8th and Quarter 2 will begin on November 9th. Quarter 1 report cards and honor roll certificates will be distributed on November 17th during advisory.
CALL-A-THON
We know there are a lot of changes at WHS for you and your student. As promised in the beginning of the school year, we are committed to connecting with every family of our 765 students to hear your concerns. This is a huge undertaking, but one we are excited to embark on and one we feel you and your student deserve. You should expect a call coming from the high school sometime within the next three weeks. Don't worry, you're student isn't in trouble, we're calling to briefly ask you how things are going at Moxley. Because these calls are being done by an army of volunteers (teachers, admin, coaches, interns) they will be spread throughout all times of the day. If you miss our call and have nothing to share, no need to call us back. But, if you miss us and want to express a concern or tell us how well things are going, please feel free to call us at 617-926-7760 or complete this form with your information and we will get back to you as soon as we can. As always, the bottom of every smore has a link to give us feedback on how we're doing as a school. It is critical that we hear from you if you have suggestions on how we can do better.
