Proctor Pathways

WELCOME TO THE ONLINE HOME OF PROCTOR PATHWAYS
Update 12/20/24
MISSION: The mission of Proctor Pathways is to provide students with Experience in and Exploration of many different career fields while they are high school so that they will become more Engaged in their school experience and graduate with a plan instead of just planning to graduate.
DON'T JUST PLAN TO GRADUATE, GRADUATE WITH A PLAN!
Proctor Pathways helps students graduate with a plan by providing....
- EXPOSURE - Students are able to hear from speakers from a variety of career areas in many different classes, attend career fairs, and go on field trips to local industry partners to help them broaden their knowledge about what career options there are not only in our own area but also in the world outside our region.
- EXPERIENCE - While attending their regular classes, career fairs, field trips, job shadows, or other opportunities presented during the year, students will be able to experience what different careers require for education and training, and what a day in the life of a person in those jobs entails so they can make an educated decision as to whether that career is something they would like to look into more.
- A HEAD START - Students who may already know what they want to do after high school have opportunities to get a head start on their education and training through College in the Schools classes and articulation agreements with local colleges that will enable students to begin their post-secondary education prior to leaving high school. In addition, students have opportunities to begin and possibly complete certifications before they leave high school that would enable them to enter the world of work with a living wage right after graduation.
OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE 100% OF OUR STUDENTS GRADUATE AND BE ENLISTED, EMPLOYED, OR ENROLLED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING GRADUATION. WE WILL DO THIS THROUGH THE IMPLEMENATION OF CAREER INTEGRATED EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION.

BECOME A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT FOR FREE!
According to data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, nursing assistants are the sixth highest in-demand job in the state. This need has only been exacerbated by the pandemic, and the current pipeline of students pursing a CNA credential is not poised to meet the demand.
To address this need, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education is convening a work group of state agencies, higher education institutions, and long-term care providers to implement the recruiting and training program. The initiative will offer resources and support to those pursuing a CNA credential from the first day of class to the first day on the job. This includes covering costs for tuition, fees, and materials. Additional investments will support transportation and technology needs for students. ALL STUDENTS ARE COLLEGE MATERIAL WITH DIRECT ADMISSIONS
Every student is “college material.” This core belief is the driving idea behind the Office of Higher Education's new program called Direct Admissions. This pilot program will notify graduating high school seniors from selected Minnesota high schools that there are multiple partner colleges and universities that are eager to admit them based on their academic records and their projected graduation date. This program will allow students to apply with confidence, knowing that the "will I get in?" question has already been answered with a "YES!"
