Spring Break COVID protocols
Schools will be closed next week, April 3 through April 10, for Spring Break. City Schools distributed COVID test kits to every student this week. Students should take the tests one to two days before returning to school and report any positive cases to our contact tracing team at 443-984-1200 or covidresponse@bcps.k12.md.us.

2nd Annual Chromebook Wallpaper Design Contest
Calling all student designers! Spring Break is a great time to let your creative juices flow, and submit your artwork for the 2nd annual Chromebook Wallpaper Design Contest. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to submit their designs through April 21. The winning designs will be the new Chromebook background for the 2023-24 school year!
School Police survey
City Schools Police wants to hear from students. How can they better support school communities and keep students and staff safe? Please take the short survey, open now through April 21.
Correction: this survey is only for students.
The survey is only for schools that have a permanent assigned school police officer. If your school is not named among the schools on the survey, no response is needed.
Summer Learning
Spring is here, and now it's time to start planning for summer learning! Check out our Summer Program Directory, which lists all the different programs City Schools will offer this summer. Registration will open on April 17, so keep an eye out for registration information.
Registration for Summer Learning will require an account on Infinite Campus. If you need help creating an Infinite Campus profile, click HERE.
Some schools may offer their own summer programs that are not listed in the directory. Those schools will share information with families directly.
Pre-K and Kindergarten registration
Do you know a little one turning four or five by September 1? It's time to get them ready for school!
Enrollment for kindergarten and priority 1 pre-K students opens on April 17. Learn about priority placements for pre-K, see a list of documents you'll need to enroll, and find your zoned school on our website.
Special Education Parent Involvement survey
For families with students who are receiving special education or related services: The Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey is now open. Your voice can make a difference for your child and children across the state of Maryland.
It’s a Phenomenon! Inquiry-based learning in science classes
