A few Words from Mrs. Buch and Mr. Walton
Thank you for your patience and support as we get our Remote Learning up and running. We realize this can be challenging, especially for our younger students. It takes time to learn to navigate the Clever, Zoom, and Seesaw platforms. We know it is inevitable that we will have challenges with technology and learning new routines. Please know we are here for you and open to problem-solving any issues that may arise. Your child's classroom teacher will be the primary person to contact if you are having difficulty with your technology; however, feel free to contact the office if you need more timely assistance.
We wish you a healthy and happy weekend!
Remote Learning Support
iPad and Chromebook for Parents and Students: This link will bring you to a page with videos helping you to navigate Clever, Seesaw, Zoom, caring for your Chromebook and iPads.
Below are a few suggestions to help your child have a positive experience:
- Establish a specific learning space in your house.
- Have your child wear headphones when on Zoom calls.
- Have your child log off of Zoom when finished with the live lesson (unless instructed otherwise by the teacher).
- Be sure to have supplies ready (notebooks, paper, pencils, dry erase marker/boards).
- Create a visual schedule or set timers so your child knows when to switch activities.
- Build independence by having your child practice using their device and navigating Clever, Seesaw, and Zoom.
- Play outside during lunch. They need to run and have fun!
Westgate's Virtual Curriculum Night will be held on Monday, September 14th. Please see the schedule below. More details with links to presentations will be shared next week.
