Our Technology students have been working hard, learning a lot and having fun!
As you may know, Technology offers many hands-on activities for our students. Today, students tested their paper structure that they created.
Here are the directions that the students needed to follow:
Paper Structure Challenge
The RCS Skyscraper Company is on the cutting edge of skyscraper technology and they are having a problem designing/building a structure that can hold weight. Below are your requirements.
Goal:
Build a structure that can hold the most weight possible with the materials given
Time:
3 class periods - 1 to design/research - 1 to build - 1 to test
Materials:
50 sheets of paper
20 paper clips
6 feet of masking tape
2 pieces of cardboard
Scissors
Ruler
Rules:
Has to be at least 13” tall
Can only use 50 sheets of paper and 20 paper clips
Can use scissors and ruler
Can bend/fold/modify the paper and paper clips
Has to be free standing (can’t be attached to any other objects)
Must be completed in the time given
Record:
