Quick Parent Survey
Please use the link below to participate in a quick 5 question survey for parents. This feedback is very important to us as we continue to work to serve our families in the best way possible.
Summer School
It may be hard to believe but Summer School registration is active. For those looking to take an enrichment course or to make up credits, please follow the link to our District's Summer School website to check out all of the information and class offerings. Summer School will run July 1st - July 29th this year. If you have any questions about summer school, please reach out to your child's counselor.
La Mesa ASB Donation Drive
This past week your child participated n our ASB Donation Drive Kickoff during PE. We are raising funds to support activities for the remainder of this year. Your child should have brought home an orange packet that contains additional information.
For our Donation Drive this year, we're using an awesome web based fundraising system that makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It's fun, it's easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don't!
Remember, our Donation Drive is until March 11, so please register now to help our school raise as much as we can for lunch activities, field trips, awards night, student incentives, and dances. Students also receive incentives for donations they bring in through pledgestar:
Using your computer's browser:
Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
Follow the instructions on-screen to register Participant(s) and add family and friends
Using your Android or Apple phone or tablet:
Go to your device’s App Store and search for "PledgeStar" to download the Family App, or go to https://pledgestar.com/LaMesa/downloadapp.html
On the home screen enter your event code: “LaMesa” to locate your event
Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
Follow the instructions on-screen to register Participant(s) and add family and friends
When you finish, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online.
Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help.
If you have questions about the donation drive, please contact our ASB Director Cesar Noboa cnoboa@hartdistrict.org
Important Safety Concern
Parents we need your help. We have received several reports from parents and community members that students, as they walk down May Way and Via Princessa after school, are rough housing and pretending to push each other into the oncoming traffic. We also have many reports of students throwing rocks at cars. This is incredibly dangerous. It can result in someone accidentally being tossed into the traffic or cause a driver to be spooked and lose control of their vehicle. We need every parent to talk about this behavior your child. We appreciate you working with us to keep students safe.
Food for lunch May Not Be Delivered to School
We have had several students order through services such as Grub Hub for lunch. Please know that these deliveries will not be accepted. Please note that lunch is free for all students this year.
REMINDER: Please Pull All the Way Forward before Unloading and Loading Passengers
Parent Presenters Needed
Parents and Guardians! Would you like to share your passion for your profession with our students? We are seeking volunteers who can share about their career, a "day in the life" on the job, and answer student questions during our Tutorial sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, contact Marie Mancini (counselor) at mmancini@hartdistrict.org.
THANK YOU to our parents that have already presented! It has been such a wonderful and inspiring part of our Tutorial program. In fact, it is actually changing lives! One of our students who self described themself as someone who expected to drop out of high school, attended one of these parent career presentations and has a whole new plan for their future. Parents, you can make a difference in the lives of our students!
