Welcome Back From Mrs. Marsh

Dear Rocket Families,

On behalf of the staff at Royal Oaks Elementary School of the Arts, I am happy to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! We are looking forward to an amazing year in our new school and are excited about partnering with you to ensure our Rockets achieve their highest potential. We are eager to have students back in our classrooms and hallways, filling the building with energy and enthusiasm for learning.

Royal Oaks Elementary is proud to continue celebrating our distinction as an A+ School of the Arts. Our teachers have specialized training through the A+ Schools Network in order to weave the arts into every aspect of a child’s learning. It is our mission to use the arts as an inspiration for engagement, creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning. At Royal Oaks Elementary School of the Arts, we have talented and dedicated teachers who spend hours planning and creating learning experiences that will bring energy and excitement into the classroom, making learning truly fun and meaningful for our scholars. We utilize a hands-on approach to teaching and look for natural ways to bring the arts into every classroom.

Your feedback is important to us in achieving our goal as a School of Excellence. Therefore, we solicit your suggestions for school improvement and encourage you to stop by, join in, and share your ideas with us at any time. Attendance

A child's attendance in school is important because students are more likely to succeed in their academics when they attend school regularly. Ensuring regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success. Your commitment to good school attendance will also send a message to your child that education is a priority to your family. If your child is going to be absent, please be sure to submit a note to your child's teacher or complete the form online:

Grading Policy

After School Clubs

We are excited to announce the great opportunities we will be able to offer our students through our after school clubs. Please review this sign up sheet and return to your child's teacher if you are interested in your child participating.

Because of limited availability with each club, we will do a lottery drawing to pick participants for each club. All Club Interest forms are due by September 6th.

Transportation is not provided for clubs.

Electives

All students will get to participate in Electives approximately once a month during our regular school day. This time will be in replacement of Encore time and will provide all students with an enrichment opportunity of their choosing. Forms will be sent home at Open House. (K-1 students will receive these forms in December.)

Please be sure to send these back as quickly as possible--the limited number of seats in each Elective class will come on a first come, first serve basis.

Arts Integration

We are excited to enter our second year as an A+ School of the Arts. Our first year was filled with many successes and we know we will continue to improve our instructional practices of integrating the A+ Essentials into our classes.
