Dear CES Families and Friends,


It was wonderful to see so many families and caregivers in our building this week for the annual Parent-Teacher Conferences. We hope you were as impressed as we are with the incredible growth our students have already made this school year.


Our daily schedule returns to normal next week (no half or early-release days). Additionally, we will be holding our second SHARK Assembly of the year on Wednesday and the PTO will be holding our annual Halloween Parade on Friday afternoon.


We hope you have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you at next week's parade.

Principal for the Day

Students and staff alike were thrilled with a change in leadership on Thursday. Miss Ellie Yates took over as Principal of CES for the day and Dr. Kelly took on the role of Asst. Principal. The office of Dr. Ellie and Dr. Kelly was busy, but both were thrilled to get into classrooms for visits among their many duties.


Thank you, Dr. Ellie - the pajama and stuffie day was a huge hit!!

Halloween Parade

Please join us on Friday, October 27th for the Annual CES PTO Halloween Parade,


All are welcome to join in the fun as we leave from the Chatham Recreation Department parking lot on Main Street in Chatham at 4:00. The parade continues along Main Street all the way to Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore, then crosses Main Street for the return trip. Students must be accompanied by an adult.

CES Veterans Day Assembly 2023

CES is proud to release the date for this year's Veterans Day Assembly. This special afternoon is dedicated to honoring our community servicemen and servicewomen.


In addition to student presentations and music, we will be presenting a slideshow of CES student and staff's veterans. You can view last year's video HERE.


We need your help in making this event a success. If you are a veteran, current serviceman, current servicewoman, or related to a veteran or current military member please share our invitation to the assembly. We also would love to add their photo to our slideshow presentation.


There are two forms below:


  1. RSVP for Veterans - this form should be completed for any veterans or current military members who will be joining us for the assembly. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate all families for this event and are limited to our veterans.
  2. Photo Submissions - this form should be used to submit photos and information for our family member slideshow



Please contact Dr. Kelly at jakelly@monomoy.edu with any questions. We look forward to welcoming our veterans and appreciate your support in this special event.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Kindness Challenge - All Can Participate

The Daniel J Hollis Foundation, Inc. was created in memory of Dr. Kelly's son Daniel, who died in 2019. The Foundation's mission is to support young people in exploring their world through community, healthy competition, and curiosity. This is the third year in a row that the Foundation has donated a number of band instruments (drum set, bass guitar, flutes, clarinets, and trumpets) to the students of CES. Please consider participating in this social media challenge to spread kindness and acts of good will.

Mobile Crisis

Bay Cove Human Services offers Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) for young people who experience a behavioral health crisis. They can be reached at 833-BAY-COVE (833-229-2683) 24 hours a day.


MCI provides short-term service that is a therapeutic response to youth and family/caregivers experiencing a behavioral health crisis. MCI evaluates the situation, identifies the challenges, involved, assesses the needs, and begins to treat and stabilize the situation, reducing the immediate risk of danger to the youth or to others. MCI then provides up to 7-days of intervention and services post the initial encounter. Learn more about Bay Cove Mobile Crisis HERE.

WIC Program

WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health care education, healthy food, and other services free of charge to Massachusetts families who qualify. WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent, or legal guardian of a child under the age of five, you can apply for WIC for your child.

Pre-School Vouchers

The Dr. Florence Family Support Program funds pre-school expenses for residents of Chatham. Families are eligible for $10,000 annually for children age 4 and $5,000 annually for children age 3. Please see the link for more information regarding this program for Chatham families.
