2023-2024 School Year Registration
6th grade students will receive information on registering for 7th grade classes for the 2023-24 school year on Wednesday, January 4th. Students will receive a google form to complete in their school GMail account. Parents/Guardians will receive an email with helpful links to help with the registration process. Please look over their elective choices and help them fill out the google form. Please refer to the date specified on your student(s) google registration form for the due date.

8th graders, you will be watching a video on how to register for 9th grade classes during CORE on January 5th. At that time you will be given a paper registration form again. You will be given instructions on how to register online. There will be an opportunity for you and parents/guardians to go to the high school in the evening of January 12th to register online if you need additional assistance.
Registration online is due January 13th. High school counselors will be in your science classes on Friday, January 13th to pick up your completed paper registration form as well as to make sure you have registered online. Students who have not registered online will be entering their class choices for 9th grade in science classes on January 13th. The expectation is that you have already completed your online registration by the time high school counselors come to your science classrooms.

Asian Culture Club
Hi Falcons!
The Asian Culture Club we will be holding a potluck at our next meeting on Wednesday, December 21st at 3:15 PM in Room #201. We will be watching a movie that day and enjoy our last meeting of before Winter Break.
If you're planning on bringing any food to share with everyone, please email Mr. Vue (noah.vue@ahschools.us) or Mr. Gross (andrew.gross@ahschools.us). Otherwise, if you're not able to bring food that is okay. Mr. Gross and I will be bringing food to share with everyone so don't worry!

Yearbook Orders
GREAT NEWS! It’s not too late to order your Coon Rapids Middle School 2022-2023 Yearbook! Our yearbook will include color pages that vibrantly capture school memories. It comes with a sturdy soft cover that has the school name and year imprinted in foil on the front. The cost for the yearbook is only $19! For an additional cost, you can add on yearbook extras such as: current events insert, hard cover, autograph insert, and stickers to decorate the yearbook. Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser
Help support the 6th Grade Field Trip through purchasing bread, butter, and gift cards from Texas Roadhouse now until December 22nd. See the flier for more details.
News from the Library
We will be heading into winter break soon. Although the media center is not available during this time, there are many digital materials available to students. Did you know that CRMS has over 8,000 ebooks and 500 audiobooks available for checkout through the Destiny icon found in the AHConnect’s lock and key? Destiny’s colorful tree icon will bring users to the library’s homepage. Click on the MackinVIA tile to see all the ebook and audiobook options. MackinVIA does require a username and password. These are the same used to sign into the student chromebook. Check out the YouTube tutorial on checking out digital material. Have a wonderful break filled with books.
CRMS Ski Club
Join the Coon Rapids Ski Club. 5 Friday night trips. Join the fun with your friends. Pick up a flyer or have your parents register online.
Lost and Found
Please take a look through the lost and found and take anything that is yours. Some of it will be donated Wednesday December 21 if not claimed. Thanks!
CRMS Food-shelf
Coon Rapids Middle School will be holding monthly food-shelf distributions. These distributions will be held on the third Thursday of every month. If you are unable to attend a distribution but have a need for food shelf support, you may contact your grade level social worker to schedule an appointment.

If you do not know your login information for ParentVue, please call the Help Desk at 763-506-HELP (4357) for assistance.
Early Dismissals

Please allow a minimum of a half day advanced notice.A slip will be given to the student to excuse them from class. By providing this advanced notice, the attendance office will have your student ready to meet you at the designated time. This minimizes classroom disruption and gets you to your appointment on time!
Late Arrivals

Photo ID Required
All Anoka-Hennepin schools require photo I.D. to enter secured buildings.
Upon building entry, please meet your student at the attendance office where you will be asked to present your photo I.D. a secondary time.
Students will only be released to parents/guardians listed on student records.
Medical Documentation
If your student’s absence involves a doctor, dental, mental health appointment, a note from the clinic is highly encouraged. After 10 absences, documentation is required.
Students may drop this note off at the attendance office, or the clinic may fax to 763-506-4803 (Attention: Attendance). Parents may also upload via the ParentVue app.
Truancy Laws
Minnesota State Statute (120) requires that children attend school each and every day and every class period. If a student misses a school day, or part of a school day for legitimate reasons, a parent or guardian must notify the school or this will be considered an unexcused absence towards truancy.
