THE PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear HCS Families and Caregivers,
Autumn is fast approaching and thankfully, the building has cooled down and the leaves are beginning to change. For many of us, this is the most beautiful time of year in Vermont. We encourage you to get your kids outside as much as possible to enjoy the fresh air and the natural beauty that surrounds us.
We also just completed our third week of school and the students and staff are continuing to get to know each other. It is wonderful to see students and teachers taking time to build communities throughout the day during morning meetings and team time activities. Our fall athletics and after school activities and clubs are in full swing and it is exciting to see the number of students that are participating. Thank you to our coaches and club staff for making these opportunities happen for our students.
We hope you enjoy the beautiful weekend!
Best,
Suzan and Tim

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY IS COMING UP!
All students will be photographed on either 9/26 or 9/27. Please check with you child's teacher to determine the picture date. Approximately two weeks after portrait day your child will bring home a personally customized order form envelope. There will be five to six different poses of your child printed on your envelope for you to choose from. Prints or packages can be purchased of multiple poses, there’s no need to pick just one!
Order envelopes are the most economical way to purchase portraits, and these orders will be delivered back to the school for distribution to families. We also offer an online ordering option. You can log into the gallery using your child's ID number, which can be found on their order form. Please note, when ordering online you are ordering as an individual and no longer receiving the benefits of discounted volume ordering through the school. Prices online are therefore higher than the prices on the envelope. We do discount our online prices by 25% for the first two weeks to help offset this price difference. After this time the online prices will automatically increase. Online orders are mailed directly to your home and additional products are available.

A make-up day will be offered in early November for any student who missed the first session or who would like their portraits retaken at no extra charge.
We will also be offering sibling portraits at no additional charge. These sessions will be held in November after the fall sports season. Further details will be provided when we announce your school’s make-up day.
We look forward to photographing your student!
Who's ready to show some HCS Pride!? There is a large online selection of HCS kids and adults apparel options available as well as accessories. You have two weeks to browse the site here and place your orders! We can't wait to see everyone sporting their HCS gear later this fall!
Note: All orders will be picked up by a PiE volunteer (they will be packaged by order and labeled with the name of the individual ordering). Distribution will be arranged as soon as all orders are received (approx. 2-3 weeks after the online event closes). We anticipate having a couple options for after school pick up and will notify everyone as soon as our schools orders are ready.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING PiE + HCS! Happy shopping:)

CVSD DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION TOWN HALLS
We welcome everyone back and are excited to announce a new format for the CVSD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Town Halls this school year. We will meet virtually for the first Town Hall on Wednesday, September 20 at 6:30 pm. At that time, we will provide an overview of this year's Town Hall topics. We will also answer questions about the DEI work that is underway in the district. Future DEI Town Halls will take place in November, January, March, and May. Those will be in-person Town Halls with a specific focus. The Zoom information for the September 20th Town Hall is posted on the district's website calendar and on the CVSD DEI website. We look forward to continuing the conversation!
On alternate months, (October, December, February, & April), the CVSD Virtual Town Halls will focus on the Strategic Plan and Growth & Belonging.

Dear CVSD Families and Caregivers,
Our district values your feedback! Starting on September 22 and continuing through October 9, we will be asking you to take a brief survey to tell us about your experience with the school(s) your child attends. To ensure we continue to provide high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We invite you to share your thoughts.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us using Let's Talk.
