April 13, 2023 Newsletter

Thursday, April 13
At the School District of Beloit, we enjoy sharing events, achievements, and recognitions highlighting our students, staff, and community partners. We provide transparent and up-to-date information and communication through our social media platforms, our SDB App, website, weekly school newsletters, and my weekly newsletter. We appreciate the positive engagement by everyone who follows us on on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn and stays connected with us through our app and website.
If you are looking for accurate information about our district, I encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn or; download our SDB App (it’s free and available in the App Store or Google Play Store); or access our News Tab to connect with us through our podcasts, blogs, videos, recent news, and district highlights.
The school district is aware of other Facebook pages and websites that do not support our view points. Our communication channels are the best way to access information about our district. We believe in respectful, truthful, and encouraging messaging and communication. We will continue to communicate in that manner with our students, staff, families, and community.
In service,
Dr. Willie E. Garrison II
Superintendent, School District of Beloit
Reconfiguration Update
I want to share an overview of the reconfiguration of our district for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
Elementary Schools
Our six elementary schools (Converse, Gaston, Hackett, Merrill, Robinson, and Todd) will remain open and will serve all students in 3K through 5th grade.
Middle Schools
Aldrich Intermediate and Fruzen Intermediate schools will serve all students in grades 6th through 8th. The families of these students will receive a letter this week outlining their designated school. Throughout the summer, we will engage our middle school students and families with updated transition plans, onboarding, and tours to ensure a smooth and positive start to the 2023-2024 school year.
Beloit Learning Academy
Beloit Learning Academy will relocate to Cunningham Intermediate. This will allow for an expansion of our alternative and supportive programs. In collaboration with Dr. Betsy Schroeder and Mr. Kris Whitney, we will work to ensure that our students and families at Beloit Learning Academy receive timely communication regarding the transition to Cunningham.
Beloit Memorial High School
Beloit Memorial High School will continue to serve our students in 9th through 12th grade.
As we plan for the upcoming school year, know that our district is committed to transparent, timely communication and continuous collaboration. We understand this is a change for our district, please know that we will be right here to support your family and student(s) every step of the way.
