Elementary Conferences
Thank you for attending elementary conferences. We had a great time meeting with families, brainstorming ideas for learning, and finding solutions to concerns. We hope you took some time to view the Learning Showcase in the hallway. Thank you for celebrating our community's journey of growth, learning, and achievement.
Weekly Contact
Don't forget to have your student make contact with your consulting teacher if there is a week they will not be attending any in-person classes or workshops.
Creativity Spotlight: 3D Plant and Animal Cell Models
Did you get to see some 3D cell models up close at the Learning Showcase?
In middle school, students are studying the basic unit of life: cells! They enjoyed creating and sharing their 3D cell models. They agree that creativity is like the secret sauce that makes learning way more awesome. Students found unique ways to share their learning and used all kinds of materials like "fun-size" candy, sticks and leaves, bakery treats, styrofoam, clay, Minecraft, sheet metal, and Legos.

As I reflect upon my first quarter as principal here at SVLA, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and excitement. Stepping into this role has been an absolute privilege; and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive community that make SVLA such a special place. Witnessing the enthusiasm for learning and the sense of camaraderie among everyone here has been truly inspiring. The students are amazing and I cherish my interactions with each one of them. I am continually impressed by the staff. Their devotion to the students and families is amazing. As we move forward into the rest of the academic year, I am eager to continue working alongside the SVLA staff to build a strong parent partnership program where students feel empowered to excel and grow.
