As we move into the winter weather season, MCPS aims to ensure you are kept up-to-date with timely and accurate information about weather-related delays, closures and early dismissals.

MCPS has six operational status options, which are reported by easy-to-understand, color-coded messages on the main page of the MCPS website, and this information is linked to each school website.

Can you believe it? This is the last weekly message for 2023. After this week, when we next meet again, it will 2024!

This week's message is a short read as there are not many messages to share as we close out the calendar year. However, I do want to remind you that there is a PTSA meeting this week, Tuesday, December 20. See below for more information. Also, last Wednesday I shared the following message regarding registration with you via a Remind message:

"Today at AEHS we are beginning our Academic Advisement period for SY24-25. As promised, I am sharing our parent and caregiver letter with you, so you are aware of what this period consists of. Please note that students will register for SY24-25 courses next Wednesday, December 20, during 7th period. Please review the letter below, so you, too, are informed about the process, and con support as much as possible at home. Not to worry, each student will meet individually with their counselors in January before finalizing their schedules, to help clear up any confusion or mistakes students might make next week when selecting courses."

Finally, I am happy to share with you that the tentative graduation date for the Class of 2024 is Thursday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m., at DAR Constitution Hall. There will be no school on graduation day. Details to follow in the new year.

If you haven't already, membership to the PTSA is simple, and your contribution goes to fund many student-centered activities. To join, click on this PTSA Membership.
