Coyote Update
Chandler Early College High School Vol 1 Issue 2
Scaringelli's Segment
Highlights of first quarter include ASU Admissions presentation, our first spirit week, Sgt. Hundley speaking with our students from Chandler Marines, First Quarter Awards, and our first Coyote Chronicles was published. Students have been working hard in their Journalism class to get this edition completed.
Second quarter is just as busy as the first one. We have many exciting events on the calendar and you can also look at the Important Dates section below. When students return on October 18th, we will be welcoming eight new students to our family, bringing our total to 74.
CGCC's spring schedule is out. I have sent home emails to all families whose child stated they were interested in taking a course next semester with available sections that work with their CEC schedule. If everyone who was interested takes a course we will have doubled our numbers with over 20 students concurrently enrolled! It is never too early...start college now! If you did not receive an email and your child is interested, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Lastly, at the beginning of the year we tasked our students to come up with a mission and vision statement for CEC. I have never been more proud of a student body than I was with their outcome.
Mission:
Community, Empowerment, Creativity
Vision:
At Chandler Early College we value Community, Empowerment, and Creativity. The openness shared between staff and students builds trust in a thriving community. Empowered through limitless support, anything is possible. This is a place where creativity flourishes to build a better you.
Enjoy break and I look forward to seeing you all soon!

King's Korner
Don't forget to update your OLR in Infinite Campus. It is important that we have the most current information on your child.
Attendance
Please make sure to call the attendance line (480.224.3067) to excuse your child if they are feeling ill. If your child is going to be tardy or leave early, you can either send a text to your child or call the attendance line.
Fun Fact: Mrs. King is a Chandler High alumni.
Silver Apple Award
Google defines a teacher as a person who helps students acquire knowledge, competence, or virtue.
Our three teachers definitely fit that description, but they are so much more to our students. As a small school, students get close with their teachers and our teachers look after their students as if they were their own. They make the time to listen to their students and really hear what they are saying. They encourage them to get their classes completed and to come to school every day. All our teachers use their prep hour to tutor students that are struggling. Did you know that our teachers rotate having lunch in their room so no student would have to eat alone?
We are truly fortunate to have three amazing, multi-talented teachers to take care of our students. Channel 3 News and Arizona Bank & Trust sponsor the Silver Apple Award to honor outstanding Arizona teachers. If you would like to show your support and appreciation of our teachers, have your child fill out a nomination form.
