Open House Kindergarten Sign-up Night

Wednesday, February 12th from 4:00-6:00pm

This is a night to register your child for kindergarten. In order to enroll your child for kindergarten they MUST be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020. Parents should bring their child’s birth certificate, proof of address (rental agreement/mortgage document, utility bill or property tax statement) and immunization record to complete the enrollment.

Bring your child and have a chance to see the Kindergarten classrooms and meet the teachers.

We have so many wonderful volunteers and appreciate all that they do for our school. If you would like to volunteer in the classroom or go on field trips, don't forget to fill out the volunteer application if you haven't done so already. It is good for 3 years before you need to fill out a new one. Click on the attached link to get started. Volunteer Application

Deer Creek prides itself on being as secure as possible for the safety of our students. We have many procedures set in place to meet this goal including requiring parents and visitors to sign in before entering the school. During morning drop off we do have some parents who walk into the school by the gym without signing in at the office. This does pose a safety concern. Parents are more than welcome to walk their children to school and drop them off. We just ask that parents say their goodbyes at the gym door and then let their child enter the school.

If a parent needs to enter the school, we ask that they make sure to sign in at the office. These procedures are set to make sure all of our students are safe. Thank you in advance for your help and understanding.

Art in the Burbs Board Members Needed!

Art in the Burbs still needs 5 board member positions filled. We need a new webmaster and 4 artist category leads. Category leads head up specific categories of types of art to recruit new artists to participate in our show. If you like to go to local art and craft fairs - this is for you! Please watch for flashing lights and the flagger at the crosswalk at the entrance to the school on 131st Ave. Please do not enter the crosswalk with your vehicles until all students and staff have safely crossed the road and are on the sidewalk.

Dear Deer Creek Families,

Daniel, a former Deer Creek student, now a 6th grader at Twality, had a battle with cancer a few years ago. Unfortunately, the family recently found out that his cancer has returned. While his family troop rallies around his needs, we want an army to support them. We are raising funds to help cover medical expenses, transportation costs for treatment, childcare, lost income, and other expenses involved. While we collect donations, we can also show our support. Here is a way you can help support them:

• Bracelets-These are available to buy now for $3. You can send cash to school with your child to buy before school or bring the money to Mrs. Ewer’s classroom. There are adult and child sizes available.

100% of the money goes to support the family.

PSO Family Dance is Friday, February 21st, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 per person. Pre-purchased tickets include 2 FREE snacks! Please only send cash or checks payable to Deer Creek PSO for presale tickets. Tickets will be sold every morning from 8:00 - 8:20 AM on February 18-21. Tickets will also be sold at the door the night of the dance starting at 6:50 PM. Glow sticks and rings will be available for purchase. Parents please plan on attending with your children.

The student directory is available on the Deer Creek website. It is under the parent tab and listed in order by grade and teacher.
