Event Date is Saturday 2/10– official WSMA Solo & Ensemble Festival, Prairie View Middle School
Optional event for those that have signed up
Reminders for that day:
- Plan on being there for about 45 - 60 minutes total (schedules run close to on-time, but not exact).
- Students MUST bring home instruments on Friday 2/9 after school - Central Heights will not be open
- Get to Prairie View about 15 - 20 minutes before your performance time:
- Warm-Up for Band is in the Large Gymnasium / Percussion warm-up in Rm. 119
- Get your Judge’s Copy in the Cafeteria (see more info below)
- Confirm your location on the map
- Be at your room about 5 minutes before your assigned time to help keep things moving
WISCONSIN HERD PEP BAND - Saturday March 16
Central Heights Pep Band plays at Wisconsin Herd Basketball Game in Oshkosh, WI.
ALL grades (6-8) are invited and welcome to come to this event!
COST: $33 (includes bus & student ticket)
TIME: 2:30pm to 10pm

8th Grade - Sound of Sun Prairie Beginning Soon!
Sound of Sun Prairie (Sun Prairie's summer marching band) is beginning it's 2024 season.
- SOSP Kick-Off Meeting (students & parents/caregivers), 7pm @ SP East
- SOSP 1st Rehearsal, Saturday March 3rd, 9am - 1pm @ SP East
- students do not need to be 100% committed at this point, come and check it out

Band Scholarships Available!
The Bernie Powers Band Foundation works to help students reach their goals by providing financial support for experiences that will help them grow as musicians and people. These scholarships not only benefit the recipient, but other students as the recipients share what they learned as they used their scholarship funding.
The following scholarships will be offered in the next window of scholarship applications which will close March 15th, 2024.
Jeff Bogosh Summer Jazz Camp Scholarship, $500 (8th Grade)
H.E.A.R Scholarship, $300 (7th and 8th Grade)
Berman Sound of Sun Priaire Scholarship (8th Grade)
Berman Percussion Scholarship, $300 (7th and 8th Grade)

Jazz Bands rehearse two mornings/week from 7:30 - 8:15am on Tuesday & Thursday morning
- Rehearsals have resumed for this winter
There will also be a handful of performances possibly including and limited to:
- Sun Prairie Middle School Jazz Festival, Friday March 1st
- Swing Into Spring Jazz Extravaganza, Friday April 5th, 7pm
- Other TBD (school & community events)
