It is Admissions Season, for any of your friends or family who are currently in high school who are interested in applying to AOC for the fall of 2023, they must attend a mandatory meeting (for rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students). The zoom meetings continue this week. Parents must register to receive a link to the meeting. Please see this link for more information. In order to receive an application, they must attend this mandatory online information meeting.

• Friday, November 18th- All families and students are invited to attend Class Cup and Mount Saint Mary's Visits AOC.

Click here to order a free lunch for your student through the Hart District. Free lunches are available to all students in the Hart District. Orders must be placed before 8:00am.

Counseling Updates

Mount St. Mary's University visits AOC: Friday, November 18th students can learn more about MSMU and meet the MSMU representative from 7:45am-8:45am in AOC RM 102. Learn more about the campus at https://www.msmu.edu/

College Application Labs: Seniors wanting a place to work on college applications or have them checked for submission can join Ms. Grijalva in the AOC Computer Lab Tuesday, November 15th and Wednesday, November 16th (3-4pm). Remember UC/CSU apps are due November 30th. Lab will also be available on Monday, November 28th and Tuesday, November 29th.

AOC Spring 2023 Schedules: Spring 2023 class schedules will be available on Infinite Campus on December 5th. Students can check their COC Class schedule on MyCanyons now.

Thanksgiving Break College Application Support: Seniors wanting their applications to be reviewed for submission can schedule a Zoom meeting for Tuesday, November 22 or Wednesday, November 23. Appointments for application review can be scheduled at calendly.com/dgrijalva (Click on the 15 or 25 min option depending on your needs)

Please join us at ShareTea for an AOC ASB Fundraiser. We'd love see you there from 11am-10pm on 11/16 on Town Center Drive.

Please join us for Class Cup. All students, parents and families are welcome to attend this very special school-wide community event. Class Cup is Friday, November 18th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on the practice field/soccer field behind the COC stadium.

Hello Academy of the Canyons Families & Students!

As we approach the holiday season, we are happy to announce our holiday donation campaign! In the spirit of giving, we are looking for gift card donations that will go to AOC families in need of food and support during the holiday season. We appreciate gift card donations to grocery stores (Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, Stater Bros, Food4Less, Whole Foods, Walmart) and/or department stores (Kohls, Target, Old Navy, JCPenney, Macy's, Ross, TJMaxx). If you can donate, please drop off your donation to Mrs. Perkins in the AOC main office on the dates listed below.

If you are interested in receiving holiday support please mark the appropriate box in the form. *Please keep in mind that AOC cannot guarantee everyone who signs up will receive holiday support as items will be limited and donation based only. Responses will be kept confidential and you will be contacted separately to receive the donation.

AOC's Mock Trial team competed in its first competition this last week. They did an outstanding job and are already getting ready for their next competition in the Antelope Valley. If you are interested in participating in Mock Trial, practices are held after school from 5-6:30pm in room 101. COC Thanksgiving Holiday is only from 11/24-11/27. You are expected to attend COC classes. We will see you back in school on Monday, 11/28! Have a great break!

The COC Music Department presents their Studio Jazz Ensemble on 12/8 at 7pm.

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
