Please let Ms. Curtis (rcurtis@wcpss.net) know if you're interested, and thank you in advance for your support! Supplies and materials can be dropped off in the main office.
Partner's Read Volunteers Needed!
We are preparing to begin a new program called Partners Read with select 1st grade students!
*The gist of the program is that we will select 10 emerging readers who regularly get to school early / on time. On Fridays 5 volunteers will come in and spend 15 minutes reading 1-on-1 with two different students between 8 & 8:30. During each session the students will choose a brand-new book - which will then be read to them. These new books get to go home with the children every Friday! By the end of the year the participants will have taken home 20 brand new books! (10 weeks in fall & 10 weeks in spring)
Learn more: https://www.wakeed.org/programs/early-literacy/
Ideally, we would like to have volunteers who can commit to all ten weeks.
Volunteers must complete the WCPSS Volunteer Registration Process and will train once per school year with WakeEd Partnership. Volunteer training will occur in September (date to come), and the program will begin Friday, October 7th.
Please let Mrs. Curtis (rcurtis@wcpss.net) know if you are interested in and available to volunteer for this wonderful program!
