NVLA SOT Parent Nominations
Greetings,
NVLA is looking for six (6) parents to serve on our School Organization Team for the 23-24 school year. There will be 2 parents for elementary, 2 parents for middle school, and 2 parents for high school. Each CCSD school has created a School Organization Team (SOT) made up of elected licensed staff, education support professionals, parents/guardians, and students, as well as one or more optional, non-elected community members who will assist the principal in making important decisions impacting the school.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL ORGANIZATION TEAM?
- Provide input on the school performance plan and budget.
- Provide continued advice to the principal in carrying out the school plan.
- Assist with the selection of the next principal when there is a vacancy.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF TEAM MEMBERS?
- Serve on the team through September 30, 2024, unless you no longer attend the school.
- Attend meetings at least once per month outside of school hours.
- Make decisions with the whole school population in mind.
- Work collaboratively in an attempt to reach a consensus with the team.
(Student representative is a non-voting member of the team.)
If you are interested in serving, please complete the nomination form below by the end of the day (3:11 pm) on Friday, September 15th, 2023. Voting will take place on Tuesday, September 19th. Another Google Form will go out with all the candidates on the voting day.

Panorama Survey: Middle & High School Students
Dear NVLA Families,
Thank you for being incredible partners in educating our children. Building our social-emotional learning skills is an important goal for our school every year as we work together in collaboration with families to support our learners. We are writing to inform you that your child will be given the Panorama survey this coming week. The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on their positive feelings, challenging feelings, supportive relationships, and how they view themselves as learners.
We are asking for your child to reflect on their own mindset and approaches to learning via an online survey. Your student will be completing this survey during his/her/their class time. The survey shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.
We are asking that all of our students participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our school’s response to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys are completely confidential.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
NVLA Administration
