This month we are focusing on the character trait honesty. We can talk about honesty in several ways. One of the ways we will be focusing on is being honest with ourselves by using positive self-talk. Positive self-talk leads to increased self esteem and decreased stress. You may ask your student how they use positive self-talk when facing a challenge!
December Literacy Tips
To help your child become a better reader and writer:
During your next outing or gathering, take action packed photos, then have your child create captions to go with each picture. Assemble the pictures and captions in a book to read together and share with others. You may also want to consider adding speech and thought bubbles to your picture book.
This activity will help your child recall important details about an event and is an opportunity to work on sequencing skills along with writing mechanics. It will also help children think about being concise and descriptive when writing. As an added bonus you get to remember and reflect on a fun family event.

Please consider baking desserts for the Winter Concert Bake Sale. Goodies can be dropped off in the office by noon on concert day, Dec. 14.
