Message from Mrs. Frenes-Gomez
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope you and your family have had time to rest, enjoy your loved ones, and disconnect from electronic devices. Our Jersey staff and I are looking forward to the start of an exciting new school year. We would like to give a warm welcome to all of our students and families new to Jersey, especially our PK, TK, and Kindergarten! Welcome to the Jersey Family!
As the first day of school approaches, I will continue to inform you with any updates. We look forward to an amazing year of learning and collaboration with our families and watching our Eagles SOAR!

Classroom Assignments
First Day of School - Wednesday, August 16th
Bell rings at 8:10 am
School begins at 8:15 amDismissal will be at 1:30 pm
EARLY DISMISSAL (1:30 pm) the first week of school - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Aug. 16, 17, and 18
Please ensure your child is picked up on time. Student safety is our highest priority. With this in mind, please remember that Jersey Avenue is a closed campus at all times, including the first day of school. This means that students are to be dropped off and picked up at the appropriate gate.
2023-2024 Supply Lists
Arriving on Campus/Student Drop Off
All students not having breakfast will enter at 8:00 am. Our back gate (Gate #2) along Alburtis will also open at 8:00 am for 3rd-5th grade students. Teacher Tammy and Mrs. James' class will enter through Gate #3. Please see the map attached below. Parents may park on the street and walk their child to the gate or may drop off curbside (valet-style). Please pull up in the driveway or curb as far as possible to avoid traffic and please avoid exiting your vehicle. This is a drive-through lane only. For your child's safety, please do not drop off on the inner lane of the drive-through or double park.

Daily Schedule
All Jersey Avenue school days begin at 8:15 a.m. Students should arrive no later than 8:10 a.m. Students will be marked tardy if they arrive after 8:15 am. Please make it a priority to have your child arrive at school on time each and every day. Beginning on Monday, August 21st, dismissal for TK-3rd will be at 2:30 pm and 3:10 pm for students in 4th-5th. All students are dismissed at 1:30 pm every Wednesday.

Breakfast and Lunch
Our cafeteria opens each morning at 7:40 a.m. for those students who are having breakfast. Students will enter through the MPR/Cafeteria. Breakfast is served from 7:40 am - 8:00 am.

Dress Code Policy
Although students do not wear uniforms, all students are expected to follow an appropriate dress code. We ask parents/guardians to pay special attention to clothing worn especially during the warmer months and ensure students are not wearing short shorts or inappropriate attire. Please see the Dress Code Policy attached to your child's registration. A signed copy acknowledging your review of the school's policy must be returned by Friday, August, 18, 2023.
Dress Code Policy
All students are expected to follow the dress code as defined:
- Blouses/Shirts - Bare midriffs (short blouses exposing stomach), see-through blouses, oversized shirts, tank tops, or sleeveless shirts are not permitted.
- Pants/shorts - Baggy shorts or pants are not permitted. Pants or shorts with rips above the knee are not permitted. Shorts may not be tight or too short. Cut-off shorts that are below the knee with high socks are not permitted.
- Shoes and socks - Closed-toed shoes and socks are to be worn at all times (ex: tennis shoes). Sandals, crocs, or high-heeled shoes are not permitted.
- Hats, hoodies, and beanies are not permitted. Hats and beanies may only be worn on specially designated days such as Spirit Days or outdoor field trips.
- All attire must be free of inappropriate wording, violent or graphic images (including animation characters/emojis portraying violence or weapons such as guns or knives or reference to drugs). Gang or gangster reference on clothing or hats is not permitted.
- Earrings may be worn only if they do not dangle.
- Make-up may not be worn.
Consequences for not following Dress Code Policy
Students who are dressed inappropriately may be sent to the office. Parents will be called to bring appropriate attire for the student. Please use your own discretion about anything not listed above.

Parent Teacher Organization
A special welcome to our newly elected PTO Board for the 2023-2024! We invite all parents/guardians to participate and join our monthly PTO meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month. We also welcome parent volunteers for school events. We will be asking for room parents very soon. With everyone's support, we can make this an amazing year for all of our students!
