Our Mission: “To share the Good News of Jesus Christ, teach children, and assist parents in training children to be witnessing Christians and productive citizens.”
Weekly Devotion
“For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one
who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15
In the time of Jesus, the people of Israel were ruled by the Roman empire, but they were
governed by their own priests, including the high priest who worked in the Jerusalem temple.
The high priest was the only one who could enter the most holy space of the temple, and it was
separated by a thick curtain embroidered with images of cherubim. Within the most holy place
was the very presence of God. The high priest was chosen and anointed for his position to go
into the most holy place on the Day of Atonement and be a type of mediator for the people. The
high priest would present the blood of the sacrificial lamb to God, and then he would receive the
forgiveness of God and bring it out to the people.
Jesus too was chosen and anointed by God to be the next and final high priest. Jesus passed
through the heavens, into the presence of His Father, and He our great High Priest offered
Himself as the sacrifice for the sin of the world. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, came
out of His tomb and declared God’s forgiveness to the people.
Jesus is the final and Greatest High Priest.
He knows the onslaught of temptation, yet He did not succumb to it. He prayed as we do, and the
Father heard Him. He is our suffering servant. The one who bore our sin in His body. The one
marred beyond human semblance. The majestic one, yet with no form or majesty when you
looked at Him. The one despised and rejected by men. The one who bore our griefs and
sorrows. The one stricken, smitten, and afflicted for us. The one wounded for our transgressions
and crushed for our iniquities. The perfect lamb led to slaughter. All this, for you. That you may
be His own.
We could ask why. Maybe we should. But we’ll never understand the answer, the love. We can
only see it, hear of it, and marvel at it. And we do.
In Christ,
Pastor Schneider

The second and third grade students will be taking the IREAD-3 assessment on the dates indicated below. All testing will be completed online. In order to make sure that students are at their peak potential to perform their best, we have provided the following reminders:
If at all possible please do not schedule any appointments during times when your child will be testing in order to avoid your child’s absence for part of the testing.
If students have appointments already scheduled please let us know in advance so that we can schedule a make-up test session. Any make up tests will be administered during the window of March 7-15
Ensure that your child receives a proper amount of sleep each night.
Make sure that your child eats a nutritious breakfast to help them maintain focus.
IREAD is NOT a timed test. The times are approximations. Students will be given plenty of time to complete the test.
NWEA Spring Testing
NWEA is a set of tests called the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) that students in grades K-8 will be taking this fall and spring. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade take MAP for primary grades tests in Reading and Math, while students in grades 2-8 take MAP tests in Reading, Language Arts, and Math. These tests determine your child's instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the listed subject areas.
School Handbook Updates
Dear Lutheran Central Parents,
On February 20th the LEA school board met and approved some updates to our school dismissal procedures. As always we want to ensure the safety of all of our students at Lutheran Central
The following section has been added to the School Handbook:
Walking
Students in grades PK-4th grade will need to be picked up or ride a bus after school. Parents who wish to have their students in 5th-8th grade walk to a sports practice or designated location after school will need to complete a waiver form. The waiver form will need to be completed once each school year.
I have attached a copy of the waiver form to this email and the waiver will also be available on www.lcsaints.net under Forms. Thank you for your cooperation.
In Christ,
Jami Stuckwisch
