Bonham Lady Warrior Athletics
June 26, 2023
Athletic Director Notes:
Summer program brings much more than running and lifting.
On May 30, we started our annual summer strength & conditioning program. Through the first 3 weeks we averaged 40 athletes per day. This is by far the best average we've had from our girls program in several years. Our Lady Warriors have delivered. The effort and energy has been remarkable. In a short time, we have seen gains in strength, speed, and stamina. In addition, our coaches and athletes have had a chance to build trust and rapport with each other. There has been a strict focus on discipline and a higher level of expectations. Teammates have had a chance to bond and gel with one another, and new members of our coaching staff have introduced themselves and jumped on board the summer program. Our workouts will continue through the end of June while camps and occasional team functions will continue in July.
Madison Norman (Williams) is named Head Girls Soccer Coach
We are proud to introduce Madison Norman (Williams) as our Head Girls Soccer Coach and forensics teacher. Madison is a former multi-sport athlete at BHS, class of 2018. She played soccer all 4 years and has always had a desire to coach the sport she loves. Coach Norman will also serve as the assistant cross country coach and the head coach of Junior High cross country. We are looking forward to having a former Lady Warrior back home to lead our girls soccer program.

Summer Warriors Putting in the Work!
We start every day with one hour of cardio & agility. Our girls have been working on speed skills, plyometric training, agility training, running form, and competition/teamwork activities. After our outdoor session, we move to the weight room which is followed by a session of sport skills. This is when our athletes get specific skill training from our coaching staff in volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, cross country, etc. Participation as been much better than previous years, with an average of around 38-40 athletes per day.
Spring/Summer leagues and camps - Lady Warriors continue to compete!
Despite the break in their school routine, we have had several athletes continue to compete and enhance their skills. From spring volleyball in Paris, to basketball camp at Southeastern, and club softball, it's great to see our athletes striving to get better.
