Harvest Parties
We are excited to bring back our fall harvest parties this year! Students will be allowed to wear costumes at school, however the times for that will vary depending on class. Please know that all costumes need to be school appropriate (no violence, weapons, fake blood or face paint) and ideally something that your child can take on and off fairly or completely independently. Each class will be running their own party and will have their own party plan, but in the event that party volunteers are needed, please know that all volunteers/visitors will need to have completed the volunteer items shared below. Please also note that background checks are taking 2-3 weeks to clear so it may be difficult to get those done in time.
Volunteering?
We are so excited that volunteers are again being welcomed into the building and classrooms. There are many areas in which you can support the students and staff, but there are a few steps that every volunteer needs to accomplish beforehand:
Please fill out your district background check. Remember to click the "submit" button at the end! A background check needs to be completed each year and can take up to 10 days to clear. Please email volunteers@hawksviewpac.org when submitted, so we know to keep watch for your background check status.
Submit proof of vaccination or a vaccination exception form to the office. Exception forms can be found here: Medical Exception Request or Religious Exception request. Exception forms will need to be approved by our district office prior to volunteering.
Download the HelpCounter app! Please create a login and check the boxes for the areas in which you'd like to help. If you already have a HelpCounter account, please update your preferences so we know to contact you when specific needs become available. Examples of areas of interest include: popcorn day, picture day, bulletin boards, Art Lit, field trips and lots more!
If you have questions please reach out to volunteers@hawksviewpac.org
Here is a link to the PAC website, which has all the links you need to get involved! We can't wait to see parents and community members helping out!
Picture Retake Day
Did you miss picture day or want to take a new picture? Dorian Studios will be here on November 8th, 8:15-10:30am, for picture retakes. If you are needing retakes, please bring in your picture packet on this day. Please see the flyer for more details, including how to order online. If you missed picture day, envelopes are available in the office.
Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences are a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and learn about their progress so far this year, as well discussing areas for growth. Teachers will send home a sign-up on October 13th via email. October 27th and 28th are designated for conferences. While we understand families head out of town or are unable to attend for various reasons, please know teachers are not expected to conference at another time.
Community-Based Events and Announcements
Sports and enrichment activities in our community can be found on our District website, under the Resources tab, and then Community-Bases Events and Announcements.
For information about admission to this year's athletic events at Sherwood High School, please visit the District website here.
