Note from Interim Principal Mrs. Smetzer!
Good afternoon!
My bucket was filled to the top this morning as I walked outside with a speaker and a kid-friendly playlist of music that quickly inspired a dance party of students of all ages! The energy was positive and fun and inclusive. It was a great way to start the day. :)
The school is abuzz this week as kids are excited for Valentine's Day tomorrow, and teachers and staff are gearing up for parent teacher conferences this Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you again for prioritizing that time with your child's teacher and thank you to the generous support of the PTA for providing dinner for teachers on conference nights. I will be in the library for much of the time on conference evenings, so please pop on over to say hello if you'd like!
The Souper Bowl canned food drive was a great success! See the picture below for the towers of canned food items donated by our families and delivered to Sister Carmen. Thank you for your generosity for this cause and this organization.
Please continue to do your part to get your kiddo to school on time. If a student is tardy by 5 minutes per day, this adds up to two full days of missed instruction over the course of one school year. We have seen a great improvement over the past two weeks and would like to continue to see that trend moving up!
In this week's update you will find:
- No school on President's Day 2/20
- Spring conference details
- Souper Bowl of Caring Update
- Lost & found plea
- State testing information
- BVSD literacy review information
- Trivia night details
- PTA update

(Be sure to let the office know the donation is for the Silent Auction and leave your contact information so we can thank you!) Check out the Auction site at MemberHub to see examples of Silent Auction items already received—new items being added all the time! The online Auction will go live on February 25.
DONATION POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! Ideas include:
- Experiences: behind the scenes tour, mini-vacation, sporting or performance tickets (Have season tickets to the Rockies and know you’ll be out of town for a game? Add them to the auction! Nana and Grandad have a ski condo in Winter Park? Your Ryan friends would LOVE to stay there!)
- Beautiful Items: wine, themed baskets (movie night, game night, crafts), art, jewelry, pottery

Donating your services or products for the auction can be a great way to get the word out to the Ryan community about your business or talents while helping to support Ryan students. The PTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so donations are fully tax deductible as allowed by law. All proceeds from the auction and the Trivia Night event benefit our students through supplies, activities, field trips, and other education opportunities. Thanks so much for considering
