WEEK #3
Week three is in the books. Our students looked great on Thursday for picture day. Lots and lots of smiles!!! Picture retakes will take place September 27.
What is the power of reading? The Power of Reading helps to develop inference and deduction and comprehension skills. It also involves children regularly writing in different genres and creates a more cohesive learning experience. Literacy is at the heart of the curriculum and the texts facilitate a range of exciting cross curricular work. Please encourage your student to read each day.
We would ask that you take a minute to become familiar with CANVAS on your students' chromebook. Each teacher has a CANVAS page that contains modules and classwork. If your student is absent, they can access each CANVAS page and see what was missed. In some classes, there are videos that teachers have made that will explain the concept taught that day. We continue to push for daily attendance. If your child does miss, have them get on CANVAS to keep current in activities.
We look forward to an amazing year at Lyon Middle School.
Respectfully,
Jaydel Wilson
LMS Principal
CELL PHONES
Cell Phones: It is our expectation that cell phones will not be used during instructional time this year. Students will be directed to put their phones away during our 46-minute class time. This is intended to improve student learning and decrease distractions. Students will have full access to their phones before and after school, during passing periods and during lunch.
