Autumnal Equinox, Apples, and Lots of Mulch!
Students have continued to settle into routines in their classrooms and throughout the school. We have been so impressed and grateful for how kind and thoughtful our students are. As our classroom educators use Responsive Classroom methods, students are welcomed each and every day with a morning meeting. Morning meeting is a time where classroom community is built and nurtured and ALL students are present and welcomed to share and learn about one another.
This upcoming week we will celebrate the Autumnal Equinox with in class activities, a school wide outdoor celebration, and the eating of delicious apples to rejoice in the fall harvest. If you would like to contribute to this seasonal celebration, please send in apples with your child or to the office, by Wednesday afternoon.
As in past years, we will offer all students a fresh apple following our outdoor celebration!
Thank you for all of your home support for our students. We can tell how you are all reinforcing the same values that we practice at RK Finn Ryan Road Elementary School.
Finally, as you may have noted, we are going to start using a newsletter tool called "Smore" to share the Principal's Weekly Newsletter. Smore allows us to share more pictures, videos, and ensure that our newsletter is easily translatable. If you have any questions regarding this new format, please let us know!
This past week at RK Finn...
This new mulch is essential for ensuring our playscape structures are safe for students to use and required for our YMCA program to access the equipment. We have been assured that the mulch will compact and settle in with lots of traffic and rain.
Thank you for your patience as we had a few days where we could not use the playscape structures! We are all glad we are able to access these areas again!

RK Finn Ryan Road Student Leadership Opportunities
Ms. Minton has shared forms with students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 to complete if they would like to help us make these announcements, select a song, help with breakfast, and help with various leadership activities throughout the year!
