Parents and students, please note that Mrs. Kozitzky will not be retuning to teach for the remainder of this school year. We have reassigned her classes to various teachers. We have the position is posted and will let you know who our new staff member will be ASAP. Your child should proceed with courses as per usual, their temporary new teacher will email you and your child with their contact information. Course work for the next week has been released to students.

Hello from Mrs.Oikonen!

1. We will be having our Halloween Party on Tuesday at 10:00am. Your child can dress in their Halloween costume (this is not necessary). When we join the google meet, please join with your camera off and we will do the great reveal together!

2. We will be continuing with our Literacy Groups this week. On Thursday we will be participating in a Remembrance Day Presentation. Please check the November calendar for the specific time on Thursday.

3. We have Parent/Teacher Interviews this week on Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00- 7:00pm. Please click on the link on your child's newsletter to sign up for a spot if you haven't already.

Need some help with your courses? Need to write an exam? Want to come in and get post-secondary advice? You are WELCOME here.

SILC has it's own entrance on the East side of the building, main level; however, you can access us from the main doors as well. Students who are driving, feel free to park in the parking lot and let reception know you have parked there. Students taking Public Transportation, walk across from Bethel Transit Station and come on in!

The SILC Classroom (Centre) is open to student drop-in:

Monday - 8:30 - 3:30

Tuesday - 8:30 - 3:30

Wednesday - 8:30 - 3:30

Thursday - 8:30 - 3:30

Friday - 8:30 - 3:30 open teachers available by appointment

Feel free to join us for every first Friday of the Month at 8:30 am at OLPH Church for Rosary & Mass & Fellowship . We also use Fridays for Chester sessions, fieldtrips, exams, and team meetings.

• October 31 - Staff are dressing up in Halloween Costumes, if you come to the Centre you are welcomed to wear your costume too.

November

• November 1 - Chesterton Live Math Session Math 30-1 and Math 30-2 meet at the SILC Center / online too at the same time.

• November 1 & 2nd Parent Teacher Interviews ... please book a time with your child's teacher.
• November 3rd Remembrance Day @11:00 am
• November 5 @7 PM - Catholic Education Sunday @ OLPH Parish... all families and students are welcome to join the staff from SILC and ABJ as we celebrate the gift of Catholic Education
• Fall Break November 6 - 10th ... No live sessions ... teachers are off. SILC Center is closed Instruction resumes November 13

December

• December 7 Student Engagement Day 1to3 pm. Gingerbread House Building ... Prizes to be won.
